It's only been like 4 hours and I'm already feeling like I want to flip out. I have no idea how I will be able to run a business in this mindset but hopefully it passes. I am giving quitting a chance and I want to quit.

Hopefully I still have employees at the end of next week. Haha
Bunny, congrats on the quit, just take one day, one hour at a time. I went thru the same thing with the temper, one minute everything is fine the next you are screaming at someone. I started pre-apologizing to my employees first thing in the morning and again at the end of the day. 30 year chewer, 29 days quit, I am still a newbie, but it gets easier each day and the rage goes away. Glad to be quit with you brother. PM for anything, even a good bitch session.
Surprisingly today was pretty peaceful. I had some facial pain and some crankiness but it wasn't so bad. I took out some aggression out on the golf course and also spending time here.

Tomorrow will be more of a challenge because I actually have to be on a certain job site, which in the past has always been a PITA.

Just woke up. Time for a coffee and some breakfast.

Do you mind if I refer to this as something other than quitting? How about retiring?
Please tell us more about yourself.
How long you dipped. What your poison was. How you tried to quit before. We are here to help. The more you share, the more we can help.

I dipped 30 years, 24/7, business owner, quit May 25, 2012 because I found this site, the brotherhood and the quit tools that work!
The KTC way saved my life.
Cheers and welcome to the best of Your life.
I'm 34. I've been chewing since i was 16. I would chew for baseball and football. I also smoked and chewed form 16-27. Quit smoking at 27. Couldn't kick the chewing habit as easy since I enjoyed it more. Quit chewing for a few months recently but went back. This time will be different. I've been having some troubling throat symptoms the last 5-6 weeks.

I have a pain under my jawline on my left side with pain extending down my neck muscles when I move. I've been to a doctor once and he didnt find anything. Will be going back again next week. I'm pretty worried about it. It's something I've never had before while chewing and it just feel different and bad.

I'm a small business owner as well. I want to be able to enjoy the early retirement I'm setting myself up for. I love living my life more, since I've worked my ass off making it pretty great. I don't want to see all my hard work just be tossed aside and that I never get to my goals because of it.
"as much as I loved chewing" I see so many people make this comment over and over, hell I said it a million times too. You did not love chewing, you loved not going through withdrawal. What is there to love about it? How you spent a ton of money on something that could have gone to your business or something else to better your life? Or did you love that it is slowly breaking your body down and poisoning you? Did you love the way the addiction made you act? did you love the nasty spit cups/bottles, the yellow fingers, the bad breath, the shit in your teeth? Dip did absolutely nothing for you. It lied to you, told you you needed it, and all it did was get you addicted to it so you could spend your money on a slow suicide.

I am not a business owner, but I am a general manager of a successful restaurant. Let me tell you, I would never call it anything but quit. That nasty weed had cost me more than I ever realized. Since I quit, my productivity at work has gone up tenfold, im not feeling like I need to run out for a dip every couple hours, im not splitting my time and energy between the things I have to do and poisonous weed. Open your eyes and realize how much this tin of shit has messed up your life? Loved it, hell no, I hate that I ever touched the stuff.
Sounds like your experience differs greatly than mine. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome, I am also a small business owner. I quit 312 days ago. It was tough, and it is going to get tougher for you. We sound very similar with age, when we started, and the smoking.I will warn you that some people will rub you the wrong way on KTC. There are always going to be people that hide behind their computers and throw out stuff that will really piss you off. There are plenty of positives with KTC as well. The group has been very supportive to me, and they will do the same to you. Congratulations on your quit. PM if you need anything.
Thanks for reaching out. I'm here to get the support that I want. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by my old habit, but I am committed to changing and quitting the chew. Seems like many people that were embarrassed by it try to pass their shame on to you here, but whatever helps them quit I guess. I hope to avoid the fighting but it's not going to easy to ignore the first few days of quitting since I don't have much for patience right now

I do appreciate the kind words. PM me if you want to discuss anything in the future.

Hey bunny we don't fantasize about how much we loved dipping or how much we gonna miss it , we concentrate on getting what the nic bitch stole from us! Learn to hate her she took more away from you than you realize. We're all addicts here needing help . So are you and we're gonna try are best to help you! Another thing when you start going through all these withdrawals you want love her anymore! Anyone can dip but not everyone can defeat the nic bitch! Damn proud to be quit with you today my friend! Yes you will start to understand what everyone is trying to tell you, hang in here! Not easy grab your sac and follow these guy's and gals!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Rage is normal, but bring it here first. Yell and scream at us all you want, we have been through it. I didn't quit by chance, I quit because I was done killing myself, and I am the only me I have.

Welcome EB,

Good job getting on the roll this morning.
Check out the Welcome Center if you haven't already.
Drink lots of water and hit the gym as much as you can. Have a plan for when the cravings hit(gum, seeds, candy, fake).
The fact is it will suck until it doesn't. Take it day by day or minute by minute if you have to. Glad you are here!
