Welcome Garrett and congratulations on the best decision you have made for yourself in a very long time! You are in a great quitter group - keep posting roll and lean on your Dec brothers!

Tell the missus to sign up, post roll and sip the kool aid! I think you will get a LOT out of this site quitting together. I am both a woman and a former smoker, so she can commiserate with me! Plus some of the best quitters here are ladies - I think the boys will agree with me there. No one is addicted to dip. No one is addicted to cigarettes. We are all addicted to nicotine. This is really important to understand.

Anyway, proud to be quit with you today. PM me if you need digits.

Welcome to KTC man. Great place with a lot of good guys to help you every step of the way. Just focus on one day at a time; that method has helped me stay quit so far for 79 days. I never want to go back to dipping...I was so sick of it and the last few months without it have been amazing!

Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing your progress in December.

PM me if you need anything!

Welcome Garrett! This reads like you know what's up and I see you're already on roll, that's fantastic man!

Remember, that roll post isn't an "I'm still quit" update, it's a promise. By your honor, you will not touch nicotine in any form today. Make that same promise tomorrow.

If you want to make this easier on yourself, get your wife on the site and posting roll. That will get her to move her quit date up and create less triggers over the next few days for you. It will also help both of you stay accountable. It's not a problem if she is a smoker instead of a dipper, it's all the same drug.

Only other thing I'll add is that it's not a habit, it's an addiction. Seems trivial, but language has an affect on how you internalize things.

Welcome again brother, proud to quit with you today!

The first days of a new life

Hello Fellow Quitters!

My name is Garrett. I had come across this site over this last week for obvious reasons. My wife and I are both active nicotine users, she has smoked for the last 10 years and I have dipped for the last 11 years. Like many, I had actually been a smoker prior to my dipping years, and decided stupidly to exchange one habit for another. Regardless, we had both planned our quit at the end of September.

Since running across this site, I have since moved up my quit and began it Wednesday evening the 21st at 6pm and I've been nicotine free since. I have been reluctant to post roll or to get involved over the last few days. I have never tried to quit dipping before now and I wasn't sure how I was going to do. I've always thought of myself as an addictive person by nature and figured this would eventually get the best of me after the first few hours but it hasn't. So assuming Wednesday evening was Day 1, that would make Saturday Day 4? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) When my wife starts her journey, I will post her updates with mine.

I just want to thank everyone in advance who has kept up with this site, continued to post roll despite being up to 1000+ days of being removed from nicotine, and continued to look out for people like myself that knew they wanted/needed to quit but didn't know where to start. Reading over the "Words of Wisdom" and "HOF Speeches" area is what moved up my quit, I had been so inspired that it brought me to tears knowing that I had found someplace that I could utilize and help me during this time.

The first few days have already been difficult, but I figured if I could make it through the first 3 days, then I can do the rest. I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you all and here's to quitting for December 2016 group!
