Hello Fellow Quitters!
My name is Garrett. I had come across this site over this last week for obvious reasons. My wife and I are both active nicotine users, she has smoked for the last 10 years and I have dipped for the last 11 years. Like many, I had actually been a smoker prior to my dipping years, and decided stupidly to exchange one habit for another. Regardless, we had both planned our quit at the end of September.
Since running across this site, I have since moved up my quit and began it Wednesday evening the 21st at 6pm and I've been nicotine free since. I have been reluctant to post roll or to get involved over the last few days. I have never tried to quit dipping before now and I wasn't sure how I was going to do. I've always thought of myself as an addictive person by nature and figured this would eventually get the best of me after the first few hours but it hasn't. So assuming Wednesday evening was Day 1, that would make Saturday Day 4? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) When my wife starts her journey, I will post her updates with mine.
I just want to thank everyone in advance who has kept up with this site, continued to post roll despite being up to 1000+ days of being removed from nicotine, and continued to look out for people like myself that knew they wanted/needed to quit but didn't know where to start. Reading over the "Words of Wisdom" and "HOF Speeches" area is what moved up my quit, I had been so inspired that it brought me to tears knowing that I had found someplace that I could utilize and help me during this time.
The first few days have already been difficult, but I figured if I could make it through the first 3 days, then I can do the rest. I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you all and here's to quitting for December 2016 group!
