You're welcome. Your Quit matters to us. We are Quit together. I really would not have made it this far (Day 5) without Roll Call. There's something about giving your word to your Quit group brothers and all the other Bad Ass Quitters on here that makes all the difference. Post Roll, keep your word for that day, repeat the following day. Peace

JamesB-I didn't see your name in Roll Call. If you haven't posted Roll Call go to Quit groups, find July 2011 group and post ROll. There's a link at the top of each post that tells you how to post Roll Call. If you need any help doing so PM me and I'll give you my cell number. Posting Roll Call makes all the difference. By doing so you are giving your word that you will not use any nic for that day. I am on my Day 4 Quit right now and there are many incredible people in our group and all the bad ass vets who want to help you stay Quit. I am Quit with you. Today I posted Roll Call and today I am Quit. Peace
I just posted roll. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Welcome James. First thing you need to do is find your July 2011 quit group. Those folks are in the same stage of quitting as you are. Once you find you quit group, post roll call. Roll call is our promise to be nicotine free for that day. Keep that promise for 24 hours....then repeat. Hard, but simple. Next, read everything you can here, absolutely everything. There is a ton of good stuff here.

Welcome! Post up and get involved. You can do this.

Just passed Day 2
« on: April 18, 2011, 06:17:00 PM »
Hey guys, I'm so glad I found this board. I've dipped Copenhagen for about 15 yrs consuming a can per day. Last week I was on a sports message board and one of the posters made a thread that he had quit smoking for 3 weeks. Having attempted to quit dipping many times over the last 15 yrs, I posted in his thread about the pitfalls that we encounter while quitting nicotine, like telling ourselves we'll just go buy that one can and that will be it, then one can turns into another and another. I found myself inspired while I was responding to his message, and found that writing out the pitfalls gave me strength to face my own nicotine demons. So here I am today, my last dip was Saturday afternoon. At this stage I haven't felt any physical urges to buy a can that are insurmountable. But it does keep crossing my mind every hour or so. In the 15 yrs I've dipped Copenhagen, the longest I've ever been able to quit is 8 days. I really feel different this time though, and know that I'm going to make it. I'm certainly open to any suggestions that anyone may have. Thanks for listening.
