Hey guys, I'm so glad I found this board. I've dipped Copenhagen for about 15 yrs consuming a can per day. Last week I was on a sports message board and one of the posters made a thread that he had quit smoking for 3 weeks. Having attempted to quit dipping many times over the last 15 yrs, I posted in his thread about the pitfalls that we encounter while quitting nicotine, like telling ourselves we'll just go buy that one can and that will be it, then one can turns into another and another. I found myself inspired while I was responding to his message, and found that writing out the pitfalls gave me strength to face my own nicotine demons. So here I am today, my last dip was Saturday afternoon. At this stage I haven't felt any physical urges to buy a can that are insurmountable. But it does keep crossing my mind every hour or so. In the 15 yrs I've dipped Copenhagen, the longest I've ever been able to quit is 8 days. I really feel different this time though, and know that I'm going to make it. I'm certainly open to any suggestions that anyone may have. Thanks for listening.
