Okay, so though I've had dip today, I won't from now. It's going to be rough during homework..but I can do it. Hah, atomic fireballs may become my best friend and an excellent form of punishment for the craving.
Well that makes today your day 1 so post up and no more today. Welcome aboard. Make sure all your stashes are flushed!

Congrats on the idea of quitting Saturday. But you need action. Don't wait. Pull the plug on the nic. Let it die. Do it now.

Hi, I'm Kati, and I have to admit, reading through some of these posts, many of you have me quite scared! Not of quitting, but of you. Hah. Anyway, I haven't been a dipper too long, I quit smoking in 2007 and took up full time chewing. When I made the change I started to say "At least I'm only harming myself." But I quickly grew tired of harming myself, yet I continued to shove dip in my upper lip and have even mastered the art of eating and dipping. What a talent! I have considered quitting before; I even made a few half-ass attempts.

Now though, my quit date is Saturday and I don't plan on putting another damn dip in my mouth after that. For the past year, I have been working on turning my current self, a person I hate, into a person I like. I hate that I chew, so it's got to go.

Any advise or suggestions are welcome.

Oh and I hope being a female here is alright, I've joined a few other quit forums before and my being a female wasn't taken well.

Hi Kati,

I'm Ginet and I'm also female. This is definitely the right place to get the help you need to quit and stay quit. See ya in the walls of this place soon!

You are more than welcome here KZ! Congrats on quitting! it is really tough in the beginning, but I promise it gets better as time goes on, and is SO worth it! Take it one day at a time, or even 1 minute at a time if you need to.

Use distractions like sunflower seeds, atomic fireballs, jolly ranchers, or fake/herbal chew. Anything that does not contain nicotine is fine. Whatever works for you. Exercising is also great to relieve the stress and anxiety you are feeling right now.

Start with this link, to learn about this site, and how to post roll:
index.php?showforum=13

And then post roll (if you haven't yet).

Also - there is a girl in my quit group named Sage - so you can send her a private message or whatever, and have a female quit partner.
Okay, so though I've had dip today, I won't from now. It's going to be rough during homework..but I can do it. Hah, atomic fireballs may become my best friend and an excellent form of punishment for the craving.

Thanks all!
We have discovered that addiction knows no sexes. It grabs both men and women. And it is those people here at KTC of both genders that wake up each day, and make a decision to not use nicotine for that day. Then we look in the mirror and make that promise to our self, and then log on and post our word to our brothers and sisters on roll. Do this, and then keep your promise.

It is a simple scheme, but it can be done. You can do this. You just have to start with that decision, and then follow the path laid before you. And reach out to those of us here that have been through it and are ready to help.

Today, Quit Today, dump it all and I am with you.

Something inside you made you reach out now, even though your "plan" starts Saturday. Something inside is ready to quit NOW. Follow that instinct, not the addicted part of you that bargained for Saturday instead. That bargaining is addiction talking- as you read up more you will learn. Just do it now, get started, and have that many more hours behind you on Saturday!

Join us-- and if you've been checking out the site you know what to expect in terms of manners. I must say i do see these yay-hoos try and act more civil to females, so know that you are welcome and wanted here, as long as you are ready to stay quit.

Kati listen to these dudes. They may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer in general, but they speak the truth when it comes to quitting. Quit today and be done with it. You'll already be on day 3 on Saturday and the nic will be out of your system by the end of that day.

This won't be easy, but stick with it like your life depends on it...because it does. If you need help, PM me or any of these guys and talk thru it. Do NOT cave. You'll only regret it and that isn't in keeping with your new and improved self.

Today I choose to quit because today is the only day I have control over today. Tomorrow is a new day and when tomorrow is today, I'll control it too, but not until then. I will win this fight with today...

No need to be afraid of anyone here. We can be rough on weakness but there is a reason for it, we realize how strong the drive of our addiction can be. Addiction is no respecter of gender, race, religion or anything else. Your gonna hear the same thing over and over because we've all been there and recognize the BS talk: DON'T WAIT!! DO IT NOW

You know the right decision. You are here. You know you have to quit today. Jump into the pool immediately  let's get your life back!

Hey Kati... Welcome to KTC. We have some badass ladies who we are proud to quit with everyday... Don't let that bother you!

That being said... Like yourself even more by quitting NOW. Tomorrow will breed another tomorrow and quitting will never happen. Right now is ALWAYS the best time. Take back your life, your health, your dignity... Right now. I'll help any way I can but you have to make that first step. Now.
As my friend stated, Saturday is far away. Make a statement, quit now! What good will come of one more day of poisoning yourself. Let me make a list of the good things the poison does for you on a daily basis.

I'm sorry, i got nothing. Trash your stash and let's do this. Trusty me, you got nothing better to do.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Welcome KZ, being a lady is perfectly OK around here. Although we will treat you like everyone else.

Did I read you are not quitting until Saturday? Why wait? The I will stop when.... they usually dont work, we will come up with some excuse to keep on chewing.

Quit now and post roll, no better day than today.
