Thanks guys!

Only on my second day and i've come to the realization that quitting takes tons of focus. This page has already helped me a lot. I am excited to continue with forward progress. Nothing is more important right now than killing this ignorant habit for good.

Welcome man- Great Intro by the way. I agree that most dippers are athletes or at least competitive. I know I always thought smoking was way worse for your body than chew was, but there both garbage. Glad to see you've joined this group. I know for me, it's just nice to be able to see others people going through or have gone through what I'm experiencing. I'm on day 3, but I really don't miss it. I've thought about it yes, but I keep thinking how proud I am of myself for not caving.

Good luck fellow QUITTER!!
John B,

Assuming you make it through your morning routine without stopping by the C-store and buying a can of crap.....

Need to head over to thispage, September Samurai. That's where you post your daily promise to not use nicotine in any form, just for today. Tomorrow has enough problems of it's own. Assuming you're a person of integrity, making this commitment to your quit brothers/sister will get you through the day. One Day At A Time....

Process for posting roll is also there (I've cut and pasted it here for you).

Instructions for posting roll:
1. Quote the LATEST roll post. (Make sure you're at the end of the string of forum posts)
2. Left click the bottom box.
3. Ctrl + A
4. Ctrl + X
5. Left click in the top box.
6. Ctrl +V
7. Add your name and number of days to the BOTTOM of the Bad-Ass Quitters section. (which is the top section of quitters....the bottom section are the supporters).

Also, to get a better idea of how addiction works and why you get that insidious craving feeling, like you're gonna die if you don't get a dip, check out the page on nicotine addiction. It's a good read.

Come on, brother, wake up, piss, and post roll. Its a great day to be quit!

John B. We have a lot in common. In fact I am also John B aka Old Dog New Tricks. I was in a similar boat and then found this site / community of Quitters. This is one of the best experiences you'll have and your best bet to quit.

You will be in our Quit Group, the September Samurai 2015. If you truly have decided to quit then go to the Quit Group page and post your name and days of quit on our list. You have to come back every morning to reconfirm you are clean. That's how this works. More later from me. Don't hesitate to send me a private message if you need help.

So i have been wanting to quit for a about 8 months now. Let me first explain how i got started though... So in highschool i was a decent athlete that played soccer. However after my senior year season my friends who weren't as interested in athletics as me started smoking cigarettes. Now a few years prior to that we had all started smoking weed rather heavily and then casually drinking. By casually i mean getting hammered every other weekend or so. Then after i was done with the soccer season i tried a cigarette and as you can imagine that kind of put a damper on expecting to be fit enough to play college ball. So a few years go by with me smoking heavily and drinking just as heavily and then something happened, my girlfriend broke up with me. So i quite drinking and started to workout. As i started to lift in the gym everyday i switched from smoking to dipping. I only dip at home in my room alone. I haven't let anyone know i do it every night. But the dip didn't seem to effect my workouts to much(or at least that i could tell).
Then last year i went hunting for 3 weeks without any nicotine the entire time. No real cravings or any side effects during that time. The instant i got home though i needed a dip. I was back at it. About a can a day.

Around the time i got back from hunting though i switched from lifting to running. I run trails alot. About 50-80 miles a week. I even run in ultramarathon races up to 50 miles is my longest.

This is why i have decided to quite. Not only am i putting my overall life health at considerable risk but i am counterbalancing the countless hours i spend training by constricting my arteries, and weakening my heart through using nicotine.

Last night i bought a can and before i went to bed i flushed its contents. I have made it through today but am hoping for some people i can lean on since well i don't even have anyone that knows that i chew.
Great intro bro. Most dippers are high performers - we are addicts. All in on what we do. This site will help you harness this part of your life. You will feel better and run faster.

Post roll everyday. It works. Nicotine is as addictive as heroin but by following the plan you can stop losing and start winning. Welcome.
