I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone here for what appears to be the best information and support site for quitting chew. I've been dipping for 12 years as an alternative to smoking that I "quit" prior to my daughter's birth. Since Saturday October 11th is her birthday, I had set that as my quit date also. I joined today and plan on my first chew free day being Saturday morning. I know I'll get a lot of grief for not just quitting now, today...but it is my call and I want the day to be especially memorable and meaningful. I know that between smoking and chewing, we are creatures of habit that take a small bit of pride and peace in our "possessions"...opening a fresh can, tapping it down, and even collecting lighters or other paraphenelia. So before you get on the bandwagon about "quit today" please remember how all the little things we enjoy about tobacco, besides the nicotine, seem so personal and special. I want the quit to be just as important and just as memorable so it will always be an important and relevant date in my life. This is 100% going to happen and I already know I will need a lot of Brotherly support. My wife doesn't understand. I'm a Navy Corpsman and supposed to "know better" so co-workers wouldn't understand...all I have is this group for the real support I need and I am glad that I have found you all! Thanks for reading and bring it on if you must! Lol!
Anyway, that's me...I'll check in every day...
