I'm new too Raven, on day 33 or 4 depending on who you ask. Day 3 was the worst for me, and somewhere around 10 to 14 days in (I didn't mark the calendar) a crave to end all craves hit me like a tsunami! Thank goodness it was at like 10PM and I just fought it till midnight and fell asleep. Look out for that one guys.
Oh, and I'm chewing the fake stuff like a madman. Don't think it will be forever, but right now, it helps.
Go Team July 2011!!!!!
Last can I opened was a can of whoop ass.

Raven, I am in your July group and I am getting through Day One. I am using Smokey Mountain and I sprinkled some Cayenne Pepper in it to give it a little kick. It's the wintergreen-I dipped Kodiak for thirty years. I also run 3-5 miles about every other day. I am quit today. TMP

I have been chewing for the past 20 years. Now it's time to stop. This is my 4th day being dip free. I have been chewing smokey mountain and gum + I have been going to the gym. Feel great at this point. I do 3.5 miles of running just about everyday.

Should I keep chewing the smokey mountain.
welcome raven,

Congratulations on your quit. Sounds like you are doing the right things. As far as using smokey mountain: My opinion is stuff that in your face if it helps you stay quit. Most will tell you that you will give that up on your own in due time. Post roll as the FIRST thing you do every day. It's your promise not to use nicotine for just that day. Tomorrow you wake up and do it all over again. Quittin one day at a time, that's how we roll. Your group is July, a fine group of quitters who are going through just what you are.

Glad to be quit with you,

I chewed the fake shit like it was my job early on. My .02 is to use it as you need it. Fake, seed, gum, candy, toothpicks, straws, whatever works.

Around day 250 I just stopped using the fake, had no need for it anymore. It did serve a purpose early on and helped me tremendously.

Glad you are here ! Get settled in.

STAY QUIT
Greg

Welcome raven, and at day 4 you've already made great progress so well done. Keep with it it gets easier and at some point the cost and hassle of packing a fake dip will outweight the appeal. In the meantime do what it takes to keep from using nic.
