Hello,

I am 20 years old and have been dipping since I was 15. I have recently cut back but It was time to quit. I am usually very good at completing goals when I put my mind to them, but quitting dip has proved to be a very difficult task. I am currently on day 4 and the headaches are almost unbearable. I have been drinking plenty of water which has been helping. However, the headaches almost seem to be a blessing in disguise because the last thing I want during a intense migraine is a dip.

I feel as though I am probably much younger than most people on this site but I feel that It is a fantastic resource to help me make sure that I am not addicted to this shit for the rest of my life, no offense intended. College can be stressful at times, but hey so is life, so I can no longer use dip as an excuse to deal with my stress.

I went to an all boys high school where I can honestly say about 35% of the guys dip. I find this to be very high, and it was something that I was defiantly surrounded by. In college I have also been surrounded by people who dip. I feel no peer pressure to do it anymore but It is the simple fact that I am addicted, and one of my fraternity brothers or friends is sure to have a can on them. I'm on summer break now, and its time to quit. I started April 30th, 2014, and I'm not going to look back.
First off, congrats on the 4 days so far not everyone can make it through the first couple days alone. Second, at first glance it may seem that most of these guys are just old farts and most are 'roflmao' , but there are quite a few of us younger quitters (I'm 22) on here. We can relate to the stresses of college life and quitting. Thirdly, don't just post roll and leave, the key to successfully quitting on KTC is to create a web of accountability and to be as involved as you possibly can. Jump in with both feet post roll every damn day, exchange numbers with your fellow quit brethren, hop on live chat to slay a crave or just kick the shit, and read/post as much as you can.

Take this one day at a time and it becomes much much easier, also get pissed at nicotine, that is your enemy! If you need a contact or anything at all send me a PM. You got this shit!

Not that I've been quit for any eye-opening period of time, just about 3 months longer than MCO, it's awesome to see a post like that come from a guy who's only been quit for 52 days. There is a man who gets it and understands the core of quitting. That core is how you quit every day and how you stay quit every day. MCO has his freedom, he is not a slave to the can. And he has been in your shoes. He specifically knows your fight and your day-to-day challenges. MCO is a badass quitter and an anomaly. 97% of people in their early 20's cave, and MCO proves one day at a time, he is not in the majority but is in the elite. OSU, that is how you quit and quit hard. KTC will make all of those associations that made you feel like you needed to dip become outcasts. We're the cool people now and if you want to hang then quit like MCO, drink the kool-aid, and quit with us.
OSU for Ohio or Oklahoma. I guess both are all boys high schools, huh? (HAHA!)
Congrats on making a great decision and doing it so young. You will hear that 3% of folks your age make it...but you can be one of the 3%.
One clarification...You will be addicted to this shit the rest of your life. Once an addict, always an addict. You won't be cured. But, you can manage your addiction and refuse to feed the bitch. The point being, all of us no matter how long we are quit are $5 and one bad decision from day 1.
Fuck peer pressure! Rise above it. I can barely remember back to my college days but what I do remember is that there was a lot of drinking and triggers. You may want to abstain from such things until you get a little further along in your quit.
You will find that stress is a stupid reason to reach for the nic bitch. The saying goes: problem + nic = two problems
Nothing is better because of nicotine!
Glad you are here, (no matter what the "O" stands for).
Quit with you!

I really stop reading MCO's post after his avatar flashes me. I quit with you OSU, even though I assume what OSU stands for, and that makes me throw up in my mouth a bit.

Welcome Osu. Glad to see another slave wanting his freedom.
You're not here by accident. You are an addict of nicotine (poison). All of us quitters are addicts of the poison...we quit One Day At A Time.
You really can "be quit"...Today. You can do anything for a day,,,,right?

use candy, water, ratshit, catshit, peanuts, gum, help you get through...but you are NOT allowed to reintroduce the POISON to your body...NONE for you today.
You can do this ODAAT.
Read up, gather your weapons to fight/control your addiction, chat hard, quit daily, exchange digits with your quit brothers, accountablity and commitment are key.
Post roll
Keep your word for today
Wake and repeat

Welcome to the best of your life.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.
It's poison I tell ya, You wouldn't drink Liquid Drano, would ya?
