Well I see what people mean by the "fog"...I went to go get my truck washed today and I felt as if I just drank 3 beers and had a good buzz going. It was pretty funny actually. How long does this sort of feeling last for??
For me it was about a month. Is a strange feeling. I also felt like everything around me moved in slow motion.
oh remember the fog....

the length of time varies based on the individual. I can only recommend a lot of liquids, water and cranberry juice, and exercise to speed up the removal of the nicotene from your system and then a healthy diet to replenish your system with the proper nutrition to feed your body.

keep on fighting as it will lift. And as you proceed through your quit recognize it for what it was and you will be able to laugh at it, in time....
Thanks, well I sure hope it doesn't last a whole month, thats a long time, but it is what it is I guess. Got my self into this, gotta get myself out.

I also get a little shaky sometimes out of no where...I can't help but laugh at myself and think..."dam this shit is BAD for you!!!"
I'm in the day 2 mode myself buddy and this fog or whatever it is is crazy.I feel like i'm high or drunk walkin around.I can hack that but i'm nnot sleepin hardly at all and i had a hot flash last nite where i was drippin wet and 5 minutes later i was freezin-you have any trouble with that?Makes me nervous. What did we get ourselves into is right but we'll get thru it!
I haven't had any hot flashes, to be quite honest my "withdrawals" haven't been all that bad, but I attribute that to the fact that I dipped for about a year and a half...I'm sure it would be much worse if I had been doing this for half of my life, which is one reason why I decided to quit now. I feel I am doing really well right now, I think a big part of it is just being confident and even after day 3 it truly feels nice to just feel free from nicotine and feel free from feeling the need to dip. The "fogginess" or dizziness isn't that bad, its quite minor, and it makes me laugh every once in a while being all weird like this.
Hey crc268, great to hear that your quit is going so well. I would warn against complacency however. Many a person has come back to this site after being quit for long stretches because they thought they could have just one. Be very thankful that you were smart enough to give this addiction up early. Many of us are jealous.
I'm not trying to be complacent, but I'm not going to sit here and be pessimistic about quitting either. If I constantly dwell on the thought of quitting I will never be able to quit. I try to keep my mind AWAY from tobacco and nicotine, and so far I have found that its worked for me quite well. I don't think constantly thinking about the difficulty of quitting is going to help anyone. Anyways, that's my 2 cents...
You are right brother, you shouldn't just think about it constantly. that said it is hard to think about anything else. I do recommend getting a new hobby or picking up an old hobby. do keep you mind active.

This is good conversation, one that I think you should also have in the group.
Time heals but I'm forever broken

ITS NOT WHAT YOU GOT YOURSELF INTO, ITS WHAT YOU HAVE CHOOSE TO GET OUT OF. DAY 30 FOR ME AND I AM STILL IN THE FOGGY CLOUDS. IT COMES AND GOES. THERE ARE ALOT OF BAD ASS VETS ON HERE AND LOTS OF NEW BROTHERS GOING THROUGH THIS WITH YOU. HANG IN THERE YOU ARE DOING AWESOME. PM ME IF YOU NEED MY NUMBER TO TEXT OR TALK. PROUD TO BE QUIT WITH YOU TODAY.
hot flashes, cold sweats, loss of sleep, and foggyness are all 'normal'.

That is what nicotine does as it is leaving your body.

Think of what is must have been doing to you when you were using it every couple of hours....

And is bad as withdrawal is it is nothing compared to cancer.

Read some of the cancer stories and look at some of the pictures, those helped with my resolve during the bad times.

Remember, it starts to get better hour by hour, day by day, and week by week.

And if you do this quit right, you will never have to do it again! Every hour of withdrawal you go through is one time only.

If you do not want to go through it again, never put nicotine back into your body.
