@rbeforer We embrace the suck of cold turkey here. I have tried the weaning method MULTIPLE TIMES and though I made significant progress in "reduction of usage" and "temporary stoppage". None of it stuck! That method always is just one stressful life event, one bored day, one long road trip, one ______ fill in the blank.

The absolute best method is to post roll in Feb 20. Gather some digits and lean on your fellow quitters. Commit! One second at a time, one minute at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time.

1) Make/ Post the promise to not use nicotine today
2) Keep your Word
3) Repeat the next day

It really is that simple,

Go post roll and pm for digits. I'll be proud to quit with you!

If you want digits, feel free to ask- Just know I expect yours in return. I am in it to win it- Are you?

@rbeforer, if you truly want to quit, and want to be successful, quit cold turkey and don’t satisfy your oral fixation. Or at least wait til after a week or so of no nicotine. Don’t wean.  There’s no soft way to be successful. Just gut punch that nicotine bitch, fight the 7- 10 day withdrawals and you are on the other side brotha. I promise once you cross through “the suck” it’s much better and way easier to ignore cravings.

You may be a diabetic, but it’s ten times better than being a chemo patient. Let’s do this brotha. Let’s quit today. That’s all you need. Quit for the day, then make the same promise again tomorrow. One day at a time. If I can do this after 24 years of having a dip in 18 hrs a day, anyone can.

Hit me up if you need. My digits are only a pm away.

@rbeforer so you are still a drug addict controlled by nicotine. @RDB is spot on. Cold turkey is the only way. Not making fun of being a diabetic, but I would be at least as concerned about getting cancer and having your lip fall off. Flush all the nicotine away, find some healthy substitutes, and go post a day 1 in February. I will be happy to support you daily and multiple other quitters here will do the same. Time to choose life my brother.

My suggestion -

Go zero percent Grizzly wintergreen and 100% sugar free chewing gum. Or 100% sunflower seeds. Or 100% coffee grounds. Or 100% sugar free hard candy.

The bottom line - cut out the Grizzly completely. Use whatever the hell else you can think of that contains no nicotine and no sugar.

Myself, I used sugar free chewing gum. At first, I put in 3 or 4 pieces just to match the volume of crap I was used to. I didn't limit myself at all with the gum. I switched out with fresh gum very often. At first, I don't think I saved any money at all when I quit nearly four years ago. Now, I don't use gum at all, but it took a long time to transition - probably 8 months before I was off the gum.

Get off the Grizzly and go to the February Pre-HoF Group (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=15988.0). Post your promise to remain nicotine free for the next 24 hours. Come back early tomorrow, and every tomorrow afterward and make the same promise again. I've been doing that for 1,397 days now, and it has kept me quit. Quitting is very simple - hard as hell - but simple. Find a nicotine-free (and in your case sugar-free) substitute. Post roll in your group daily. Exchange digits (phone numbers) with other quitters. Mine are a PM away. Refuse to put a dip, or any other form of nicotine in your mouth for any reason at all.

Not to sound like a broken record - but throw the Grizzly away dude. You are only prolonging the pain.

Hello All,
I am at about 80 percent Smoky Mtn 20 percent Grizzly wintergreen on my second week. However, I need a alternative to Smoky Mtn wintergreen. I am diabetic and need a sugar free alternative. I really Like the Smokey Mtn but cannot continue to use it because of the sugar. All suggestions very appreciated
