Just found out yesterday one whom I respected when I quit had began drinking again. He had paused 4 years when I quit. Yesterday was his new day one.
Damn. While disappointing to hear, they are valuable reminders to us to never get complacent. Any cave or relapse is a tragedy but they can bear fruit to others who need to be reminded and strengthened on their own quit journeys.
