Some solid advice coming to you Sam from newbies to veterans. This journey is a long hard ride but worth every bump in the road. The freedom you desire is attainable but how bad do you want it? You gotta let your guard down  reach out to anyone  everyone here at KTC. We're in this together.

Hey man! Nice job on making that decision, we both recently did. I'm on day 3 but listen to what all these vets have to say and contact them. They've already helped me out so much man, we've got a lot of great guys on here. Anyways it's good to see someone with a quit date as early as mine, get in contact if you need anything. We're gunna be basically going through the same shit at the same time so if you'd like someone to share your pain/suffering I'll be right there with ya brother haha! Let's kick this shit!

You'll never regret quitting. The only person between quitting and caving is you. We are here to support you and help but you have to take responsibility for you and your actions.

The first thing is posting roll. Do it early and everyday. Go here to learn more: forum/55560/

The next thing is to read, read, read and then read some more on this site. Read introductions, read posts, read stories etc. Two of my favorite stories: topic/1008847/1/#new and topic/1008859/3/#new

Drink a lot of water, and when you think you've drank a lot of water, drink some more. It'll help flush your system and being hydrated will help with the fog.

Do what ever you need to to to keep nicotine out of you body.

Document in your intro what you are going through, your thoughts, stuff you've read on here and want to read again. It'll be important to your quit now and later.

Quit one day at a time. You have to stay quit today to be quit tomorrow, so focus on today. Then wake up, piss, post roll and quit for that day. Focus on quitting now- the days will add up all by themselves.

Quit with you Sam.

PM me if I can ever help.

Quit on.

Good for you Sam! This is the best choice you can make. I am currently at day 178. You have to know that this will not be easy! The first few days are rough as hell, but YOU CAN DO THIS! All of you brothers on this site can testify to that. You will have to fight for this. Soon, you will get a lot PM's from brothers. It seem odd at first, but you need to welcome their help, and exchange numbers with them. It will help when the urges seem like too much to handle. The most important thing you can do is be honest. We all have had the cravings (still do) and dip dreams, but coming on to this site to discuss what you are going through will help. Post Roll everyday, and be active. We are all here to help. PM me if you need anything!

You got this Bro!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life
« on: September 20, 2014, 11:26:00 AM »
Hi all,

Today is my quit date. I'm going cold turkey with sugar-free gum in hand. I've quit once before for a year and a half. I've been dipping one can of Copenhagen a day for 5 years. I'm taking the dream trip of my life to Europe in October and I want to start my quit some time before then. Today is my first day. Any words of support or wisdom would be very much appreciated.
