on day 15, i feel f'n great! it feels like i left that old life far far behind.. i went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning. first one since i've been quit. everything went great! no signs of the big C and just a little gum loss on the one bottom tooth, maybe a skin graph in the future, we'll see. thanks for the support everyone, this site really helped me stay strong -george
Very good to hear about the check up. Remember this day and how it feels. They will get more and more frequent with time. Eventually the good days will far outweigh the bad days. And way down the road you will very rarely even think about dip.
I remember my first trip to the dentist. I was so freaked out I could barely breathe. Remember how good this feels, remember why you quit !!

NEVER AGAIN !!

STAY QUIT

i just kicked the shit out off day 6...i feel fucking great! i will do this! i cant believe there is a world outside the nic...its awesome too. my life is slower now and i'm enjoying everything more for some crazy reason. i caught myself picking flowers on the side of a old road today.....joking..but i feel amazing guys...i'm fuckin doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-george
ps..took 1 fatty of the fake today..felt nice for bout 5 mins then flung it out.
ATTA BOY!!!!
Nice work on the 6 days !! Every day away from the bitch is HUGE.
Ok-its time. No more when I turn 30, when I buy the new condo, when I move in with my girlfriend, when I get married, when my kid is born. Can't believe I have done this for so long. Had a couple of periods where I quit and had it licked but thought I could go back. Sterted this crap in HS to be cool and now it is 30 years later and here I am. Thought of my kids having to go through life with a Father who had 1/2 face. Not their fault-they didn't sign up for that deal. It is time.
Feels like a century since I spit out my last fatty. On day 3 and Nic Bitch is pulling out all the stops. Seems like everything I do is a trigger, from waking up in the morning, to eating, to working, to exercising. Thank the brothers on this site for making me flush my shit 3 days ago, or I would have been dumpster diving.

But I know for sure that today is not the day to cave.

hey thanks alot vh5150..ur advice and support means alot! i actually tore through a whole bag of seeds today. day 4 was pretty positive. i went to walmart and grabbed a tin of smokey mountain shit...classic flavor...not bad..i'm gonna try to do this without the fake though. i feel really good. my wife is now on board full steam ahead. she did alot of research on here and some other sites. we hit a bump in the road this weekend when she told me she'd rather have me dipping than being such a jerk. well....i about fucking lost it at her. yup, i was a jerk but i was going through some sort of withdrawl or something plus she is 9 months pregnant and very emotional. anyhow we got over that and she is on board. i know for sure with my mental strength and family support and with this supportive site i can kick the can for good. i feel awesome on day 4..cant wait for tomorrow actually.....-george
Your wife can offer support but she has no idea what you are going through. Have her do some more reading about our poison of choice and I promise you she will not say she would rather have you dipping again.

Yes you are going to be a jerk for awhile, you are going to have mood swings etc. It is all part of the healing process. Just remember you are probably over reacting to most things right now so breathe before you speak...

You are doing great. Keep adding ones...

day 3 is almost over. i had a great day with my family today! slept in a little later than i'd like to have but we headed out for a fun day of crabbbing! good times without the dip are possible, this day 3 wasnt so bad, actually a little easier than 1,2. tomorrow is the real test, i work alone and drive most of the day....fuck you grizzly mint!
If you are going to do a lot of driving, grab something to take the place of snuff. Just something to help with the oral fixation. You've got day 3 licked and the nic should be out of your system. Now, you have to deal with the craves and triggers. If you get stuck, call someone, text someone, pm someone, just seek help. Above all else, remember the look on your son's face when he dumped that evil poison in the toilet.

had some pretty fucked up dip dreams lastnight...today is gonna be a good day! i can feel it....i apologized sincerely to my wife this morning for flipping out last night...i feel alot better
It's going to happen. One of my worst was on day 4. I remember dreaming about dreading to log on and posting a day 1 again. And it was real. BTW, if you need to go off, log in here and take it out on us. Your wife is going to be one of your biggest supporters if you let her.

I've gained some weight since I quit.  But the way I look at it, you can always lose weight.  You can't re-grow a jaw bone, you can't undo cancer and you can't come back to life (physically) from putting that cancer powder into your body.  Stay quit!
does the weight gain start to level off at some point i have gained alot in 8 days myself at the rate im going ill be big as a house by nov.
It is not going to just fall off. Here is a tip I got early on from Hydro. Get up off the couch and walk. Start at a small 30 minute walk and work your way up from there.

Many quitters have become avid exercisers. I myself work out 5-6 days a week. Some guys do marathons etc. The point is you cannot wish the weight off you have to get up and burn it off.

You are a bad ass quitter... if you can quit dipping then exercise should be easy in comparison....
Good idea Greg. I've also started bicycle riding again. Kind of slacked off during the 100 + degree weather we've been having, but will start again in a few weeks. Me, my son and my daughter usually ride in the evenings. Not only do you get some excercise, I feel better after I've rode a few miles. Also, it gives me some one on one time with the kids.
