Mike- stoked for you that you have made it to the second floor.
Although you are not an obnoxious fuck like many of the rest of us, you have put together a quiet yet solid quit. Keep coming back and post more +1s. Never forget what it took to get here and how much you wanted to quit.

Nice job of posting roll Mike.  It is a little tenuous at first, but you will get the hang of it.  Look up at the top right of your screen and you will see Inbox(1).  Open it up.  It is a message from me with my telephone number.  Call me 24/7 when things get shitty or you just need to vent, rage or just talk to someone about what you are going through.  Welcome to KTC.  Wayne
You guys are helping me kick ass, cant think straight, very surreal feeling, and this site is getting me through it. I don't believe i sucked on that shit for 25 years
Mike70...again congrats on posting roll. Remember posting roll is your sacred promise each and every day...It is also the price of admission to this site. Roll NEVER takes a day off for any of us. So make a plan for this weekend. Post it as soon as you wake up. It preps you for the day, and seals your promise to yourself and the rest of the us that you will stay quit one day at a time. Good job so far. PM me if you have questions or if you just need a shout out.

Mike,
First of all welcome to KTC.  I am glad that you heard that same streaming news and then found us.  I love baseball, and that story hit me hard too.  The best thing you can do is want it and want it really bad.  Remember to take things one day at a time, never ever focus on tomorrow or next week, fight hourly at first, then daily.  My addiction started at the age of 12, I 36 and I quit cold fucking turkey just like you, but with strong will I am at day 207 today.

Urges and cravings will come and go, rage may become a factor as well.  You may notice that your body will change some good, some bad.  Read up on that stuff here, those who have walked the trail before you can help guide you through things when you need it.

Now learn how to post roll How to Post Roll.

Then join your quit group Pre HOF May 2014, this will be the month at which you will hit your HOF or 100 days of quit, as long as you have the balls to quit.

Next read the HOF speeches and stories here, learn from the veterans.  Look in the site for all kind of information like Spousal Support or What to Expect

Find an alternative to dip Smokeless Alternatives.  Find other alternatives (candies, seeds, peanuts, beef jerky...).  Also drink lots of water.  Bump your intake so you have to stop at every urinal in order to not piss your pants.

Finally, get to know people, exchange phone numbers, make friends and quit.  I also have a beautiful wife and kids, which only pisses me off when I look at the photo albums and see a chunk of nasty weed in my mouth in all of them.

P.S. all of the above underlined words are links to different areas on KTC that should help you get started.

Sincerely,
Pinched
Come on Mike. Bring it! You can do this ODAAT.
Post roll when your feet hit the floor.
Keep your word...Your word is good right?
Wake and repeat.

Read all you can, chat and get numbers of your groups members.

I committed slow suicide for 30 yrs. This is my first and last quit. day 623 period.
If I can do this, then I know that YOU can TOO!
Wow day 623 is fn awesome. Im doing it brother but it sucks right now. Cant belive how iv wasted 25 years on this shit.
Welcome aboard!!!! Already lot's of great advice here! Protect your quit this weekend...shout if you need anything

Yes, that is exactly the attitude that will help you daily. I pissed away 24 years of my life being an addict. If you want to get real pissed off about it, calculate how much money you pissed away on that weed.

Focus daily on it and you too can have a large number next to your name one day too. Just remember that all of us get to a number the same way, one day at a time.
Hate the poison! Rage at the pushers and the bought politicians who perpetuate this evil cycle. Nicotine pushers need to convince people to become slaves to a poison so that they can replace the slaves that their poison kills every day. DO NOT be a SLAVE!!! Gonna be a good deal of rage and anger early in your quit so focus it were it does the most good.

Great job quitting Mike! You have some great advice and direction below from some great quitters. The only thing I'd like to emphasize is to make the commitment to post roll every single day, and do it first thing. This is how you eliminate failure. You close the door , you take it off the table, it is no longer an option for this day. This is why posting roll is so important. You are protecting yourself from caving. I'm assuming you are a man of honor.

I quit with you today. You can do this!
