See you posted roll for day 5 today. Great job - Keep it up and stay strong cause it gets easier. The cravings will start to ease off. Don't even consider that nicotine is the answer to dealing with stress. I'm quit with you and the rest of June today.

Today sucked.  I was craving all day because of work stress, but had gum on hand and chewed the hell out of it.  Another day almost down!
Don't know if this is too early for you or not but: "Today sucked. I was craving all day because of work stess" is BULLSHIT - today sucked and you craved all day because of UST and their product that you are addicted to - nicotine... That is why today sucked - it keeps getting better though - keep up the good work!
Just realize that nicotine would NOT fix that "stress" you feel. And nicotine will NOT make you cope with the stress any better. That is pure bullshit, and the whisper of your addicted mind.

Nicotine would only serve to curb the withdrawal symtpoms that nicotine created. At least for about 30-60 minutes. Then you would need to cram another one in, and then another, and then another, and then another, UNTIL YOUR DAMN TEETH FALL OUT, OR YOU LOSE YOUR TONGUE AND JAW. You made a decision you beat this.

I agree with mich34. Hang in there chriskov. This will get better. Just win the fight for today. Tomorrow we will do it again. I quit with you, day 81 right here.

Ryan

I chewed a lot of gum my first week, then switched to mints and hard candies after biting my tongue and lips dozen or so times.

Start of day 3.  I'm chewing gum like a friggin feen, and may have had too much coffee, but I had a great workout this morning.  I have meetings from 1 on today, so I just have to hold off until then, and I'll be g2g on the way home.

Have you two exchanged information yet? You may go through the same shit at pretty close to the same time could be helpful to have a same day guy for support. Reach out to me if you need anything guys!

get each other's numbers and be there for each other.

Also, watch the coffee intake and go primarily with water. And when I say "go with water", I mean drink a TON of it. If you are walking by the bathroom without going, drink more. Caffeine effects you a little differently early in this quit, and the water pushes the poison out.
Waste is right, more water the better, and great job getting the workout in, trashing your body in the gym is a great for your quit plus with drinking all that water and sweating in the gym you'll have the poison out of your system in no time.

Day two in the books.  I had training all day at work, so I didn't really have time to crave chew.  During my lunch break I wanted one a tad and then remembered what I committed to.  I think the hardest thing will be just breaking the habit.

One thing I'm going to do is cut out energy drinks and too much coffee.  I think this increases my stress level and makes me crave chew more.

Further, I need to have gum on hand at all times.  I had it today and it helped a ton, and made me forget about chew.  I bought several more packs today.

Game on.
sounds like you're ready to fight, you can do this, know it's going to suck and take work and balls. you can do this, I quit with you today.
I think we have oursleves a quitter here. Great job Chriskov, and good call on decreasing the caffiene intake. From what I understand it takes far less caffeine to do the job in the absence of nicotine. Drink a shit ton of water and fruit juice for the next 3 days. It will help clean out the system and curb the craves.
