Schmidt posted roll every damn day for 53 days, then he started missing roll. He soon quit posting roll altogether. Now, he's caved and had 'just one'. My guess is that, like missing a few roll posts here and there, his 'just one' will turn in to 'just on my hunting trips' and that will turn in to 'just on the weekends'... This is a textbook way to get back to fingerbanging the can every day.

We have a caving epidemic with guys that are at 50+ (and even 97) days. Is this normal? OCT had literally dozens of daily posters fall off the wagon in no time after 50 days or so. What's the deal?
I'm with you, the Duck Fip Mass Exodus has been painful to watch.

Guys get overly confident I think. And they allow themselves to feel suffocated by daily accountability. It's typical addict stuff.

I have gone through several stages in my quit where I am annoyed at having to log in just so other people can feel good that I'm still on board. But that's the lie. I am here for myself. It is for MY quit. Posting roll for me is an entry into my journal and a reminder that I am quit. It's a perk that there are nagging little nagsters peeking into my journal to keep me posting every day.

My digits are XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Text me...with KTC or something in the text so I know it's one'a tha guys.

I'm going to a cabin this weekend and I don't know what the Internet/phone reception will be like.

Day 17 and going well.  I'm relying less and less on the fake dip but it helps get me through in a "pinch".....lame!

I have heard many guys use their intro's as a daily diary....and I want to start doing so.  Does anyone have a quick tip to find their own intro easily without much searching?  I tried using the search function at the bottom but it's offline.

Thanks.
Click your name, and the next screen will show your name big in the top left. Just under that is a link to "Find all topics by this member."

Nice job on 17 days. Quit with you brother.
Nice! Thanks jrod....way easier.

I posted roll this morning and I'm halfway through day 5.

Last night was odd....the temp got down to the low 70's (which is nice and cool for this time of year) but I was sweating my ass off just sitting on the couch!

I didn't have any problems falling asleep but woke up at 2:30 am with some sort of anxiety.  All I could think about was chew.  I was able to get back to sleep and was fine in the morning.

Are symptoms like those (increased body heat, waking up with anxiety) normal?
What to ExpectÂ….

Perfectly normal. Watch your caffeine and salt intake.

Vadge
Yup. All par for the course. The sleeping takes a while, but eventually levels out. For me, I tried to bust through the fog by increasing my caffeine. Bad Idea. It lead to that anxiety. Lots of water.
You've got this.
Quit with you.
Welcome Schmidt888, You're doing it right! Lots of great advice here.
Alcohol is another to lay off of. It is has killed a lot of quits early on. You can do this...ODAAT and NAFAR
Cheers.

I love beer but know that as soon as I take a sip, I'm going to want a dip.

I usually have one or two after work but haven't since I started my quit. It'll help two things....my quit and the 20 pounds I put on over the last 8-9 years!

Good to be here!

Hey man, don't think people are out to get you. Quite the opposite, they are here to help you.
Duathman is a badass quitter, and when he smirks at your reasoning, it is because your reasoning is faulty, and we know it has failure written all over it.
When will you have proven to yourself that you are quit?
1 week
1 month
What then? You win and get to dip again?

Good move taking drinking out of the equation for a while. You truly have to be sick of having your life dictated by the whims of the nicbitch. She tells you when to eat, when to sleep, how often to crap, where you can go, how long you can go there, how much money you need to take, who you can date..... you need to hate that, and be done.
Then, one day at a time brother.
I am quit with you today.
I was in this same situation for 15+ yrs. Wife (then fiance) found my tin. Oh man ... i felt awful and promised to quit. Promised and wanted to prove to myself i could quit. Here is what I proved... I proved to myself I could hide the tin better. Eventually I would get caught again and feel like you do right now. Promised to quit. This nicotine addiction is so strong I would soon find myself hiding tins again. I would get nabbed again and I would be remorseful and make a bunch of promises. Tell her I will quit but guess what ... I'd be back dipping and hiding cans in no time. What all these other badazz quitters told you is true. You got to want this for YOU. YOU have to want to be free from this addiction. Without you being all in for YOU - it just won't work. This addiction is so powerful, but definitely beatable!. Now I know u can do it... I am 32 days quit and I feel great. I did not get caught with a tin this last time - i just had it and could not live like a slave anymore! my quit is not over. I quit ODAAT and I get strength from the brotherhood of KTC. Welcome to KTC... I know u can do it-- u just need to want it more than anything. PM me if you need anything.

Good job on the roll post brother. I seen that you are quit 4 days. This is what you need to do.

Buy you a plane ticket to the the Himalayas. Get you a mountain guide and head up the tallest mountain around, which would be Mount Everest. When you get to the top take a good look my friend. You are now looking at the world without nicotine running through your veins. Freedom brother, smell it, taste it, live it. See the world the way it was intended. Now that it has been over 72 hours your body is free from nicotine. For 12 Years you have been bound by a poison that only does one thing well. TAKE!!!!! Takes your freedom while stripping you of your integrity and causes you to question your dignity.

Now if Mount Everest is a little to far and high for you, just step outside your front door. Same thing!

Now make a conscious decision everyday and post roll. Make a conscious decision everyday to not put poison in your body again. Posting roll is a promise to you and us you will not use. After time you mind and body will heal from the 12 years you have consciously decided to put poison in it. I quit with you today brother.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.
