Wierdest thing is, I feel like a super hero or some shit, like I can slow down time. I'm kind of enjoying the fog as long as I'm by myself, but i've never had a day seem drag on this long in my entire life.

Having issues talking to folks at work as well, for whatever reason I can't seem to look anyone in the eyes, and I always do.
I enjoyed the fog too Chochie. I laid in bed for like two lifetimes it felt. Good drugs come to mind..

  • Interests: I'm an ol' country boy from Texas: where I started dipping in the 8th grade over 37 years ago. The US Navy brought me to SO CAL in 1985. I got married to So CAL girl and remained here after I got out of the Navy. I love the outdoors; camping, hiking, hunting and fishing but mostly I love to do wood working. I guess now that I am not wasting money on crap I can have more to do the things I like to do.

Hang in there Brother ... I reached one year today and the fog does lift and time does return to normal. Drink lots of water, get as much sleep as you can and buy a lot of gum. Keep your quit strong.
Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Been dipping for about 14 years now. I've decided it's time to quit. Not try to quit, I am going to quit and stay quit.

Sick of spending the money, lying to my family, worrying about a spitter in the car, or at work. Looking unprofessional at work, or having to find a trash can. Sick of checking the floor in the bathroom for chew shavings.

Today will be the first day in 14 years I haven't had any dip. Wish my luck.
You forgot about trying to thread the needle while taking a shit and spitting on your dick. I was really tired of that when I quit.

Mogul quits with ya Chochie. You have the attitude to quit. Use the resources here and you will have a new freedom.

Brother, I understand, and can relate to everything you mentioned, except the spitter in the car, because in my 23 years of chewing I started swallowing. I also decided I really didn't want to die from cancer and leave my beautiful wife and my "Buddy" (7 year old son that goes hunting fishing, etc. with me all the time) alone in this world.

You CAN do this. Heck you NEED to do this. I'm still fairly new to KTC, but it's helping me out a bunch. I hit day 8 today, and let me tell you, you have a lot to look forward to in the next few days. It's gonna suck, but it's gonna get so much better, and quickly. But enough of that, as is the practice with this group, quit today. Deal with tomorrow tomorrow. I am quit with you right now friend, and we both have a common freedom that we have not had in decades. We OWN it, and we need to work to KEEP it!

Chochie,
We are all glad that you found us, like Grizz said you don't need or want luck. You need testicular fortitude, determination and drive to quit daily. Quitting is not easy no matter how long you were an addict before you started to take life back. I determined a year ago that I was gonna quit and I just did it but not without having my eyes opened up by KTC first. Below is some information and links to help you navigate and prepare to really quit (the underlined are links to KTC site locations):

1. Your spouse/girlfriend, her support is critical and she deserves to understand more what you are going through, so see the following link and hell print it or e-mail it to her to read Spousal Support

2. Read this for yourself to make sure you fully know what to expect What to expect when you quit; some days are better then others, then eventually all days are better

3. Read the stories on here at KTC, the Kern story is a tear jerker and though you want to be around for your kids this will reinforce it dramatically, Kern's Story; then there are these words spoken by a man who lost his brother to this stupid shit Sean Marsee, damn I wish he would have talked at my middle school.

4. Find an alternative and keep it on you at all times. There will be times when going to the Convenience Store and getting a soda or anything else can cause one lapse in judgment and lead to a huge mistake. Don't be that guy, be the guy with Testicular Fortitude.

5. Find a couple of other quitters and exchange numbers with them, if you need another please PM me and let's do this.

6. Remember that you are an addict, 100 days is a milestone not a goal; the goal is a lifetime being free from the nic bitch. Get pissed off at big tobacco and the dangers they put you in.

7. Remember that you are the one who caused you to be an addict, so don't let anger get outside of your control. It is no one else's fault that you got here. Your family will only support you if you are not an asshole.
