You can take EVERYTHING nicotine has to throw at you. You are stronger than a poisonous weed in a can. Nicotine withdrawal never killed anybody. It sucks at first, but you let nicotine rape your mind for years. It doesn't heal overnight. Turn the tables before you start slipping down that slope. Get some digits. Start communicating with your March bros.

Don't let nicotine win. It isn't worth it.
Lots of help and support here fatlip. Like King said, get active in your group. Post this stuff in there. It helps to run this stuff through with your brothers and discuss it, ad nauseum if needed!. Support from the vets is awesome. Support coupled with ACCOUNTABILITY from your March brothers is the "money shot".

Proud to be quit with you. It will get better hang in there!

"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597

Quote from: Fatlip08I'm having some crazy thoughts tonight at work about sneeking a dip in the morning after work...

This fuckin addiction is crazy... it is manipulating the crap out of my mind right now...
When does this start let up..
Not sure how much more I can take..
The first few days are awful - stick with it and you will get past these cravings. Do whatever you can to keep that crap out of your mouth.

I quit with you today!

Quote from: Fatlip08Day 2 is really sucking.
I'm so foggy simple things seem impossible.
Of course I dipped 2 cans a day for years and now I have no nic entering my body so fuck yeah I feel a little crazy...
Man, there are DAYS I couldn't tell you if I pissed, shit, ate, or fucked. Those days of fog are your body resetting the neuropathways. Minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day. You can do this...fight like your full of road rage!!
This is sage. The fog will fuck you up in ways that you never imagined. I went through a lot of anxiety and depression, had difficulty forming coherent thoughts, and a general feeling of dizziness/imbalance. I have had a run of pretty good days lately, but at 46 days I'm still early into my quit and I fully expect some of that to return and hit me again. That's just what I get for letting myself be an addict for my whole adult life.

Just know that whatever you start feeling as time goes on is all part of the process, and if you soldier on through it, you will come out clean on the other side. Nicotine withdrawal can last quite some time and feel like it's going to kill you, but I promise it won't. Cancer, however, will. Keep strong in your quit and keep coming back here as you need reassurance.
Glad to see your doing better with the anxiety SamueL! Fatlip.......listen to this guy SamueL. Like he said, soldier through it.

sleep and pooping will return I promise. if you haven't hit the non pooping stage, you will.

I'm here along with everyone else to support you through this.

I hit day 122 today. Didn't think I would make it past day 1. I couldn't have without this site and the determination to do so.

If you need anything PM me or anyone else.

Thought I would take a minute to wrap up my first day without nic.

Lots of ups and downs, doubt, and some fear.
This forum and site is too cool, I would never have been able to make it without you fucks on here keeping me straight.

I worked last night and will again tonite. I will sign roll when I wake up to try to keep my morning with a new commitment to my quit group.

Hope I can sleep today.

Quote from: Fatlip08So I am getting my ass kicked.

I got fake snuff, gum, seeds, an a few fireballs..
I'm starting to settle into just how much this is gonna suck.

I suppose it will be good motivation to stay away from nicotine..
I won't lie, when I did "the suck" it was awful. I posted a day 94 today - that is almost 14 weeks. My mouth still doesn't feel right. This whole experience has taught me that chewing really screwed me up.

The good news is that things will get better when you stick with it. B)B
Buck up buttercup. You've ravished your body and mind with one of the most addictive substances you can ingest for far too long. If the first few days didn't suck it'd be way too easy to go back. Remember how badly this sucks so you never want to go through it again. Don't dwell on how badly it sucks though. Dwell on the freedom you gain each time you win the battle. Now take the fight to nicotine instead of letting nicotine taking the fight to you.
