Made it through today. Can't say a complete success because I didn't dump the can out until right after I posted the first time. Took a two hour ride on my Harley and have chewed 2 packs of gum so far.

Told my wife and she promised to help me any way she can. I see a lot of motorcycle rides in my near future. That's what I do to unwind anyway and that really helped me tonight. Getting ready to hit the sack and will post roll in the morning.

Thanks for the words of encouragement and a couple of kicks in the ass. I needed both.
The complete success is you didn't use nicotine today. Congrats man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay strong. Message someone when you need help and post roll EDD.

I quit with you today.

With all due respect, Todd, this post is not full of inspiration. There is an awful lot of hoping, wishing, and trying going on it. I'm glad you feel like you maybe want to give quitting a shot, perhaps, but that isn't good enough.

Quit or don't. It's that simple. Either you come here everyday, post your promise that you will not use nicotine in any form today, and keep that promise, or you don't. Everybody here has tried quitting on his/her own in the past to no avail. The difference? Here we quit for ourselves with each other. That means accountability and it means brotherhood. We don't need you to "check in" on the forum and let us know how the withdrawals are going.

First things first. Whatever can you were about to reach for, grab it. Open the lid, dump out the contents into the toilet. Close the lid, throw it away. Do that with every single can in every single hiding spot you have. Leave ZERO of the cans.

If you're willing to give this everything in your power, go here and post roll: December 2015 The instructions for posting roll are right there on the page. That group is a bunch of up and coming bad asses that would love to help you if you want to help yourself. Go ahead, show them you're serious by posting roll alongside them. They will be more than happy to introduce you to the accountability and brotherhood.

Either you control the next step or nicotine does. You pick. Quit or don't.
Hey Todd with all due respect man the fuck up and join us in freeing yourself from this nasty addiction. It's gone be fucking hard as fuck are you ready? If you ARE 100% serious abouting quitting we are here for you 150%. So read everything you can here on KTC it ALL helps and be fucking ready for this its gonna take you out of your comfort zone and fuck with your head. Post roll each morning after you shit and PM me or anyone here to rent and bitch. I better see you tomorrow at roll or good luck pal
Fine. I'm done. Not going to feel like I'm missing something if I'm not dipping. I'm not going to do it anymore and fuck anybody who doesn't think I can or am not committed.
That's more like it. Read everything you can, put those big boy pants on and quit. All day today. As long as you can do that you won't fail, and you'll meet some kick ass quitters along the way. Every day you wake up the ball's in your court Todd. Quit or don't.
JT - good choice. It will be the best decision of your life that you will ever make. We are all here for the same reason. I look forward to seeing you at roll call tomorrow. You will be introduced to some of the baddest badass quitters i have ever met. The December group kicks ass, we kick the shit out of that Nic Bitch. We wake up the next day and do it again. We know that you can do it! Rather you are committed or not will be determined as time goes on. We have all been where you are. I see you posted roll, I was scared too! I was ending a 4+ decade long affair. After 3 1/2 years now I'm still scared at times, I know I'm just 1 weak moment, 1 dip away from being a dipper again. Remember we will always be addicts, we can't remove that aspect of our lives. If you take full advantage of the resources of this site and vow today to be a 100% roll poster you will stay quit if you are a man of your word. I know for me many times the only thing that kept me from returning to the bitch in the can was my name on the July 2012 roll call. The brotherhood that is available to you can truly save your life over the next months. Btw you will feel like your missing something because you will be missing that fix that addicts need to satisfy their need.
Grab your balls big boy and get involved here. Post roll EDD! W r worry about one day at a time here. Oh, and you can beat your sweet ass you will miss your fix. Just get it done! It's your quit, own it! I quit with you today my friend!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Hi Everyone.
I decided to take control of things and stop dipping. I almost didn't make it to posting this as I reached for a dip before I even started typing. This is going to be a long couple of initial days I think. I've been dipping since I was 19. I stopped for 2 years at one point but fell back into it when my wife and I were having problems. I kick myself every time I think about letting that start up again.

I've been a 2 can a day guy for a year or so now. My job is a lot of stress from outside of my control and I've basically sat in front of my computer dipping all day. Heck I even dip when I'm riding my motorcycle. That's some dedication the times I wear a full-face helmet.

I'm going to try to post on here as much as possible to keep me honest. I'm doing this because every time I get a cold or a cough, my first thought is, "Is it cancer finally catching up to me?" I don't want to live with that fear anymore. Last year I lost 130 pounds and now it's time to face this demon. Really hoping talking on this forum helps.
JT I quit a week ago and know how you are feeling. There is a great group of us who have quit in the last couple of weeks and we have a strong support system set up. This support is there for those who are serious about quitting.

Learn to post roll and post every damn day. You are making a promise to yourself and to the brotherhood on here that you will not use any nicotine for that day. Drink lots of water and read this site. There is lots of helpful information. Wake up tomorrow post roll and start over again. We quit one day at a time and I quit with you today.

PM me if you ever need anything.

Hi Todd!

Todd, I see a few things in your post that sounded like where I was. Two cans a day while sitting in front of the computer, and worrying about my own mortality on a near constant basis. Is this sore throat really cancer this time? When is the mass going to show up on my cheek? You, I, and many others have been there.

But my man KingNothing is right. You're here on KTC now, dude. There's no need to hope or wish here. If you get involved in your group, post roll every day, and genuinely want to quit, you should EXPECT this quit to be a successful one and nothing less. The way this site operates is extremely basic, and extremely effective.

Step 1. Promise to not use nicotine in any form by posting roll (By the way, well done on posting roll today!)
Step 2. Keep your promise until tomorrow.
Step 3. Repeat.

There is no shortage of great information on this site. Read hall of fame speeches. Read the "What to expect when you quit dipping" page if you need to. Read the stories of the people who successfully remain quit and how their lives have improved, but also read the stories of those who made the decision to quit too late, and sadly, are no longer with us. All of it is valuable information that will either inspire you to remain quit, or scare you into never wanting to use nicotine again. Use whatever resources you can here!

Welcome to the site, you'll REALLY be glad you came!
