I quit my 14 year habit Same day/Same time. Pretty sweet. I spent my chewing career hiding the fact I had a dip in, got pretty good at it too. I chewed in high-school, chewed during AF technical training, chewed through my entire AF career (6 yrs), chewed in all the "smoke free" facilities at the jobs afterwards. Never spit, spittin' was for pussies (nice high school train of thought). Now I have a job with a lot of responsibility, I really like it, like the company, like the benefits, and they have to come out with a new tobacco free policy. Not that it's really a change, but it is on paper and it was in my face, so I took the new year plunge.
Day 5 wasn't so bad, a few stressful moments but none too provoking. The only saving grace I have is there aren't any in my office that chew. I have tried quitting before and it was always the co-workers who got me my next fix. Stick in there, do some pushups or something to get through the desk sit.
