Day 90 for me as of today. As a 30 year dipper this is the longest I've ever quit. This website really helped me as motivation and preparation for withdrawal symptoms. What I read on here was spot on with my experience. The fog was awful and for me it lasted about a month and a half. I still have cravings daily and I figure I probably will the rest of my life but I feel so much better overall. For all the people out there contemplating quitting, if I can do it you can too.
Congratulations on 90 badass day's hard to do by yourself! Come join always looking for more quitters! Been dipping 38 years quit 70 day's no way in hell could I have done it without this place!
Nice job on the quit,Chad. Seems like you're just "hangin"... See what I did there? You're a hangin Chad. Too soon?

Wanna get to 900? Join your group and hold yourself and others accountable each day. Stay vigilant and help others.

Be a giver, Chad.

OK Chad you wrote your intro and got lots of support, but you did not post roll. This is the foundation of this site. Everyday you post roll, everyday the post is a promise to everyone on this site that you will quit today. Once you've done that feel free to come back here and talk about your quit or help others with those. But without the promise, it doesn't mean anything to anyone here.

Hello all, my name is Chad. I'm 40 years old and I've chewed tobacco since I was in the 6th grade. I've dipped a can a day for as long as I can remember. 3 weeks ago I took the plunge and spit out my last dip. I would love to say that the worst is behind me and I feel great but that is FAR from reality. I... Feel... Terrible... I've never attempted to quit before so I'm unfamiliar with the side affects. That is what brought me to this site. I have been severely light headed even now as I type. Severe head aches and even constipation. I just want to know if this is normal and when the Hell does it end. Any advice / support would be greatly appreciated. I'll hang up and listen.
Hi Chad, and welcome to the best decision you can make. Most of the symptoms you are describing are perfectly normal, and will go away as the nicotine begins to exit your system. You can check out thispage to see that you are looking at coming up in the next few days and weeks.

How we quit here is very simple. You will go to the your quit group, which is April 2015 and you will post up a Day 1 in the New Quitters section. Details on how to do this can also be found in the Welcome Center. Your post, which you should do as soon as you get out of bed for the day, is your promise not to use nicotine in any form. One you get through that day, you move on to the next day. Today is your Day 1 if you threw away your cans.

I'm 45, I quit when I was 41...and I was at a can or more a day. You can do this. Go post roll, and let's do this. You need any help, I sent you a PM (upper right corner of the page) with my contact info.

Quit on.

~Frazz

Frazzle Dazzle ole Chad said he quit 3 weeks ago. 'help' He would actually be March 2015 'arse' .

Chad hang in there it will get better. Drink lots of water, get some cranberry juice, dig in and hang on. There will be clearer skies ahead........ You are experiencing what is called fog. It last different periods of time and comes and goes for a while. Good news is the longer you distance yourself from the nic bitch, the better it gets.
Exactly, every day you put between you and nicotine is a win

That link Frazzled posted, the what to expect when you quit dipping page really helped me to know what I was going through was normal. I read it every single day for at least the first two months of my quit..

You are well on you way man, start posting roll with us and things will get easier, they certainly did for me after I joined.. I toughed it out like you for a while by myself and then I joined after researching whether I was crazy or what for what I was experiencing.. Posting roll and getting to know your fellow quitters here is a very instrumental. After I joined I wondered why I had waited so long to quit with people going through the same thing rather than toughing it out alone.
Nothing really to add that the other guys didn't already say. I was on day 25 when I found KTC. The page of quit symptoms was dead on for me. Really helped me too when I read it.

Just quit today. Don't worry about the future. Do whatever you have to do NOT to dip. Just today.

My bad, Chad...my apologies for poor reading comprehension tonight. Still, the goals are the same, the method is the same, and the side effects are the same. Just post in March, ok?

Chad, Welcome to KTC and everything you mentioned as side effects has been mentioned by someone on here. As for what is normal, well there is nothing normal about the nicotine withdrawals for any of us. Everyone has different reactions from quitting. Remember you have poisoned your body for many many years, 3 weeks quit is great but you will surely still see some effects of quitting for some time to come. My advice is to go speak with your doctor if you have any serious concerns about the side effects otherwise cinch up the belt I guess and keep on quitting. Make sure to go all in here at KTC and post roll daily, it will help you stay quit. I only dipped for like 27 years but KTC has worked for me. Just passed the 400 day quit mark......welcome
Hey Chad, I've been hardcore for years and the process is fkd, but grind it out. I'm just getting underway, 8 days in. If you want to chat send me a private message. I would be happy to have a winger throughout thus process. Cheers bro. P
