Lived with my in-laws for a full calendar year last year. It sucked sometimes.

Wish'd to hell I hadn't used a lot of the other struggles we were going through as an excuse to keep on dipping. Feels like every day that I didn't quit sooner was a complete and utter waste.

I think you made 100% the right call by dumping those tins and calling it quits now. The early days of being quit are going to suck. Some days will be worse than others, but the sense of freedom you will have is absolutely spectacular. Just give it some time and take it one day at a time.

Thank you all for the input and motivation yesterday. To answer one question, I was planning on waiting until I was out of the in-laws and back in my house after the remodel, that's why my quit date was jan 1st, 2015. After receiving your responses and PMs, I decided to quit this bitch last night at 11pm. Dumped the cans. I'm 15 hours in and doing ok so far. Heart rate skyrocketing from time to time and a little dizzy. I am trying to find a place to buy some fake snuff, using seeds right now. Will order online if no luck. I was a Skoal Longcut Wintergreen guy, so looking for somthing close I guess. Hooch snuff? Smokey Mountain?

I went to the Quit groups but couldn't find the December 2014 group, not litsed. I do see the Pre HOF December 2014, but I assume that's for guys coming up on one year, right? If you could point me in the right direction I'd like to post roll on my 1st day.
Great decision man!

Keep in mind that the fake dip will only satisfy the oral fixation and the routines, rituals, and habits associated with your former life of dipping. The psychological side of it.

Absent of nicotine, it will not help with the real chemical addiction that exists within you and all of us. So, you will still get the worst headaches imaginable. You will experience the fog. You will have tension in your neck and shoulders. You will be irritable. You will be paranoid. You will have thoughts you never had before. You can only alleviate these symptoms, but they won't be completely eradicated- by most accounts this can last up to two weeks.

I am only on day 30 but I can tell you after day 10, I felt like a new human. Energetic, motivated, clear-minded, focused. Like a fucking Buddhist monk.

And the funny part is- I was a considerably light dipper of skoal pouches for only 2 years. And the shit STILL fucked me up during withdrawals.

Time will stand still the next few days. Stock up on Excedrin for Migraine (this really fucking helps), fake dip, and lots of water. Post roll every day. You'll feel better when the fog lifts.
Habits begin as cobwebs and end up as chains.

James, it's great to hear you decided to quit now. You're getting through the worst of it about now. It's going to suck for awhile longer, but it WILL get better. I tried some Smokey Mountain wintergreen and it was pretty good. Keep quitting!

That's the correct group. You will hit the HOF in December. 100 days.

Post roll now. Honor your word.

Welcome aboard. No excuses. Just quit.

James, you have all you need laid out in front of you in the previous posts. All you have to do is wake up, make the decision not to dip, post roll here with the December group and then hang on tight.

There is no right time to quit. You can't plan this shit you just have to jump in. This site will give the support you need to survive the endless hours of craves at first. It really sucks, but I promise you will not regret this decision. I love being quit and I hate nicotine. Join us.

James, I was a one can+ per day user for 23 years. My advice: dump that shit and quit before it kills you dead. I get the in-law thing, but it's never going to be a "good" time to quit. Just do it, sack up and deal with the withdrawals. They suck bad, but you can get through it. It's simple - it is a life or death decision. Chose wisely man. You may not get another chance. This KTC place can help you, but you're going to have to be quit before you gain the trust of any of the guys/gals here.

James, It's not simple to accomplish but it is simple to think about. All you do is change your attitude, you promise yourself and us you won't use nicotine today and then keep your word. You flip a switch in your brain (just like a light switch) and make the decision your are not going to use nicotine. That's it and then after you are quit...........your body and mind will rage against your will for a short time and then your will be done. Faith in yourself, you can do this. Hell, i did and I'm sorta maniac. You know, I get pissed that there is a product that addicts us like that. I get pissed that I used it and became addicted. I get pissed I didn't quit sooner. I get pissed at the man who sells it and makes it for sale. I will not let him kill me therefore I'm just stubborn enough to quit. Screw them, they don't get to own me. They shouldn't own you either. Your call.

There is never going to be a right time to quit. An addicts brain can always find a reason why later is better than now. We've all been exactly where you are now. The paranoia. The anxiety. The whole 9 yards. The one thing to remember is that you are no more addicted than any other person that has stepped through this site. If we can do it -- so can you. Post your word. Keep your word. Repeat. Time to make this happen, 25 years being controlled by a substance is long enough.

Hello James, and welcome to the community. You've come to the right place if you're wanting to quit. It may seem damn near impossible right now, but it gets better. Don't worry about what tomorrow will feel like, or what you're going to do when the remodel doesn't turn out as planned. Take your quit one day at a time. Make a promise to yourself, and your brothers on here, you will be free of nicotine in every form.

Post roll in December. That is the first step. Do this every day and you will be quit. If you're having trouble, read every damn article you can find on this website. Reach out to fellow quitter and exchange digits. Hold yourself accountable. All of these things will help you. There is not better time than now to quit.

The first couple days will be rough... can't lie to you there. But you can get through them. Believe in yourself. You will find there are many people on here with the same story. We're all in this together James. Now let's kick this nic bitch and get our quit on!
