just started my first job out of college. lot of the guys i worked with dipped, i'd always thought it was nasty - but i worked outside and for some reason, it sounded good. that was over 5 years ago, and although i had a stint of about 8 months of not dipping, it's been a habit i've hid from nearly everyone since.

i told myself i'd quit when i proposed to my future wife. didn't happen.

i told myself i'd quit when i moved in with my future wife. didn't happen.

i told myself i'd quit when i married my wife. didn't happen.

i told myself i'd switch from pouches to long cut bc i hated long cut and that would make me quit. didn't happen.

had plenty of close calls/wakeup calls. one of the best was signing up for life insurance but not realizing i was going to take a urine test for tobacco. had barely enough time to detox and pass.

time to man up and stop making excuses.
It's very easy to find the excuse to keep chewing.
As you have learned, it's also very easy to set a target Quit date and not follow through.
That list you have is one that we've all had.
And it would continue with:

When my child is born
When my second child is born
When my child's birthday arrives
When my anniversary arrives
etc....
It just never ends.

Glad you realize that enough is enough. You can do it and we can help you. Read as much as you can and pay attention to what people are telling you.

PM me if I can be of any assistance to you.

Brian

triggers are a funny thing. i decided i wanted an egg mcmuffin for breakfast, but hesitated because i knew how much i would want a dip after that. finally decided fuck that, i want food and this craving won't stop me. drove right past my usual gas station for buying tins.

a close call is not almost failing a urine test....a close call is almost losing half your face and having to eat your meals through a straw for the rest of your life...we've all played roussian roulette with that outcome being a possibility.

Good decision to quit, you came to the right place. Man up and start posting roll.......I did....exactly 100 days ago.

Well said. Commit to your quit. Do it for you. Man up and make a choice each day not to use. Use this site! Let me type that again slower: USE THIS SITE! The accountability here can make all the difference. Reach out to your fellow quitters and let us help when you are weak. When you are strong, reach out and pick a brother up. You CAN do this.

Proud to be quit with you!
