Hello everyone, my name is Mike and I started dipping everyday when I went into the Marine Corps almost 7 years ago. I started with different flavors of skoal but quickly turned to copenhagen as my drug of choice. After getting out of the service in 07, I tried to quit on a couple of occassions. I had recently worked up to dipping 1-1.5 cans a day and decided enough was enough. I bought some herbal snuff and mixed it with the cope, gradually putting less cope and more herbal into my gums. Since august 1st I've had no tobacco in my system and I know this time the quit is for real.
The first week was rough as hell, now I mostly have one large crave a day, usually at night. Another time is when I go into a store I usually purchase dip from. I need to remember to avoid that when possible.
Mike - congrats on making the best decision ever. Now find your group and post up. Let everyone know who you are and do it everyday.

I am day 4 but know i would not have made it that far if it were not for this site and the guys/gals here that know what we have been through and will go through.
Semper Fi Mike, and congratulations on making the best decision of your life.

You are in the November 2010 group (God help you). Get over there and post a Day 19 with your brothers.

After that, read, read, read, read, read, and then read some more.

Check your Inbox (1) in the upper right corner. I've PM'd you some stuff.

Welcome, and stay quit.
NOLAQ...I just apologized to you earlier for our little disagreement in November. However, gotta call you out on this one.

Mike, welcome aboard. This will be tough. And yes, when you go to November, you will see guys in their early quits struggling with things. That said, we all struggle. That's why this works, because we all know what someone like you is going through.

The November group is just fine. All the groups are good groups and the best way to hang in is to stay quit. There may be times when tough love is given, but don't listen to NOLAQ on this. Don't let that comment discourage you.

NOLAQ...if this guy doesn't post roll, or if he decides not to come back, you're responsible. Don't be a prick with the new guys. Bust the chops when the chops need to be busted, then pick them up and move on. Again I think you're just getting off on pushing around the new guys.

Quit being a freaking jackpipe, you douchenozzle!!!

Knock it off!

Fuck off gator. I don't like NOLAQ, but if this dude doesn't post or quit it's no one's fault but his own. Jammer, do what NOLAQ says, listen to what gator said minus the shit about NOLAQ, and stay quit.
I will be in slight disagreement with you rick. An introduction sometimes is nothing more than a person testing out this community in which NOLAQ painted a dark cloud above the Nov group in which Mike would have been (or will be) a part of. Yes, it is Mike's choice to post or not post (I agree with you there Rick) but he may choose not too because members here (NOLAQ) do not think too highly of certain groups. If he chooses not to post his risk of caving go way up (not to 100%) but way up.

I sure hope you choose to join us Mike and ignore the negativity you have been delt here right off the bat. I would venture to say that every other person on this site stands ready to help you in a positive way. As long as you post roll call and stay quit with us you will be just fine. Cave and yes there will be some harsh words.
I too will be in slight disagreement with you Rick...no actually, I'll be in major disagreement with you.

This guy signed on the intro looking for direction as to what he should do next. Is it ultimately on him if he caves again, or doesn't sign on? Sure, we all live with our choices.

But when you got a guy telling a brand new person that he's going to be in a group of other quitters and strongly indicates that group isn't a good group...that sucks. No other way of putting it. I mean come on, Rick, you are smarter than this. New guy signs up, NOLAQ might as well told him to come back next month when the group might be better. THAT'S the message we want to send?

My point to NOLAQ was that instead of tearing down that group for its current issues, he could, every now and then, do something to help build them up. It appears he just likes kicking them when they are down.

So, as far as your reply to me...you don't like what I said...I don't care.

BTW---guess who hasn't been on the Nov. roll? Yeah, this guy. His choice, yes. Partially NOLAQ's fault--YES IT IS! Get over it, that's a fact.
I too hope to see you soon on roll call.
Me???

Already on two, thank you very much.
Well this guy never posted roll but then can't really blame him when you have four people throughing shots at each other. Probly scared the poor guy off. As far as novembers group goes I am proud to be in it and proud to be a shitbag.

Hey Jammer and Semper fi from yet another Marine and quit brother.

Before this gets to awful out of hand, I'm going to reiterate NOLAQ's advice and let's get to quitting.

1.) Best decision of your life at this juncture.

2.) Get your ass into November and post roll and your Day 19. You got a good thing going and we can help keep it going.

3.) Read, read, read, read.......

Check your Inbox (1) in the upper right corner. I've PM'd you also...

Welcome bro and we got your back........

While you three have been discussing my over-all douchieness, you've been taking time on a potential new brother's intro page to do so.

WTF is with you three? No more gay porn to watch today?

Do any of you even know what a jammer is? I do.

Am I the only one here that sent him a PM with instructions on posting roll, or are you all just a bunch of blow hard hypocrites?

...I live rent free in your heads...

Jammer...you have my PM...You've got my number if you want it. I'm sorry these pussies brought this girlie shit in your intro. Post roll and find someone to lean on.

While we disagree on the methods, I agree with all three of these cock smokers that staying quit is the only thing here.

Semper Fi.
And for it's what it's worth, I type this after discussing all this out with NOLAQ in chat. NOLAQ and I are good. As I told him, I didn't agree with two of his posts and have never had any personal encounters that make me dislike him. In fact, if I were in a cave situation, I'd have no problem calling on him, or being there for him as well.

Yes, if jammer never comes back, it is completely on him. I shouldn't have stated differently as that is completely opposed to our philosophy of the site. Any other issues I had should have been addressed differently.

Thank you for your time.

...I live rent free in your heads...

Jammer...you have my PM...You've got my number if you want it. I'm sorry these pussies brought this girlie shit in your intro. Post roll and find someone to lean on.

While we disagree on the methods, I agree with all three of these cock smokers that staying quit is the only thing here.

November is not that bad. Just show up every morning, take a good tounge lashing and do what you came here to do; post up, stay nic free today, and repeat tomorrow.
yes, do not immediately put a dark cloud over a bunch of bad ass quitters.

What is wrong with you NOLAQ?? Seriously, are you on meds or do you need them.
NOLAQ you really are becoming a bigger hinderance to the new quitters than you are helpful. This guy is looking for support and right out of the gate you start trashing his group, causing him to form a bias against them before he ever gets to know them. You are such a troll!!

Your name is even starting to prove to me you are a troll. Afterall around here the goal is quitting, but your name makes it sound like a negative thing. Your actions really make me wonder.

'Crazy'
Mike, November is a bunch of solid quitters. I am a member of November, unlike NOLAQ, and can tell you that you will see some pissing matches, but it is the nature of the beast we are trying to defeat. There isn't a person in our group that won't help you stay quit. Welcome to our group!!

'winker'
I quit dying on July 25, 2010. When will you??

Post roll every day. If you can't, text, call, email, send smoke signals to one of your November brethern. It'll help during those first 100 hundred days like you won't believe. During my first 100, I made it a point to post roll. I missed a few days, and I've not done a good job since I hit the hall, but I've re-committed myself to helping others slay the demon that pulled me down for 20 years. It's all in your head and it's as easy or hard as you make it. It's much like accepting Christ as your Savior. It can be easy as falling off a log or drive you to the edge of sanity. You've made a good choice, now stick with it.
