It will be tough with the summer approaching as I am 30 and still play competitive baseball. I am focused and look forward to any words of advice you can give me.
My advice: stop making excuses.

Quitting will ALWAYS be tough, no matter what is going on and no matter what the season. Telling us (and yourself) that it's going to be tough is simply making an excuse ahead of time. THinking like that gives you an "out" when the going gets tough. You'll fail, and then say "Well, I knew it was the wrong time." or some other weak statement.

You've quit. That is the big deal here. Now don't let anything weaken that. One day at a time. What say we meet back here tomorrow for another round of quit?
Great observation by Radman. We call this a "planned cave". You got to go all-in with this quit. There is no trying. There is only quit or not quit. Quitting has to be the number one priority in your life. Failure is not an option. If failure is not an option then there is no other outcome but staying quit.

Congrats on making the decision to take your life back.
Welcome to ktc and congrats. All the bad ass quitters here will give you fantastic advice but you have to want it and you have to want this quit! My advice is just stay QUIT! That nasty can of cancer causing shit will never make you any better at baseball or any other sport for that matter.

Congrats on seeing the light. Freedom is a great thing, which will be more apparent every day. As Souliman put it "forever is in fairy's tails." And Souliman knows about fairy's tail. There is no F'in doubt that you have the ball sac to get through this one day - TODAY - right?

Now go through the home and flush that emergency can...and the dusty can that rolled under the car seat last fall, the one that may be in the bottom of your golf bag, etc. Your reasoning may not be too straight at 1am, deep in the fog of withdrawal. I have no doubt that advice saved my quit (thanks 3YA). Check your (1) Inbox.
*Quit today. Full stop. No qualifiers. Tomorrow?... IDK, IDC.

Welcome aboard brother. Few things I've learned here the world loves to shit on a quitter. There is always going to be impulses and tests. You are strong enough to overcome these. Second, you aren't going to quit....YOU ARE QUIT. That's it brother. You don't do that shit anymore. And as for 'forever' that shit is in fairy tales. Let's get through the next 24 hours and evaluate again tomorrow. Same bat time, same bat place.

Folks are here to lean on so lean away. Yell. Scream. Make fun of my dog. I don't care. Just use the tools and keep yourself on the path.

Let the madness begin.

No matter how much the next few days suck and/or hurt, post roll early and keep your word all day. When you crave, get back on here and read anything or get into Live Chat. Welcome aboard. Holler if you need support.

Hello. I have been following your site for a few weeks now. I have determined today is the day to quit no matter what. I have been trying for the last couple weeks but things have come up, things I have read about. Take for instance, guys night, baseball games, you name it. I have been a dipper for almost five years and I have tried different things. Today is different. I took the advice of this website. I had a dip this morning (I spit it out at the time 9:13 a.m. as that is also my birthdate). I then proceeded to flush the can down the toilet. I am going to quit and I am going to stay quit. It will be tough with the summer approaching as I am 30 and still play competitive baseball. I am focused and look forward to any words of advice you can give me. Thank you in advance.

Great choice on flushing the can and posting roll. You promised not to use any nic today so hold tight to that. Quit worring about how tough its gonna be and just quit for today. Worry about tomorrow when it gets here.
Thanks for the reply. I will keep that in mind. A day at a time. I appreciate you welcoming me into the community!
