I got a big-ass plastic jug of Crystal Light Sugar Free hard candy... Pretty tasty and don't have to worry about sugar overload. I would like to try the fake someday, but haven't ordered any as my gums are enjoying their heeling process...Stay strong. Stay quit!

You will find quitters here with all sorts of opinions about the fake stuff. Bottom line is this: Do WHATEVER you have to do to stay quit. If it helps you, do it. I tried it around week 4. It was ok for a few days, but by the time my two cans ran out I was done with it. I'm on day 76 and still eating seeds like crazy. Keep going strong. There will be good days and bad, but it gets better and better. There are days where I don't even think about dip anymore. Stay strong, stay quit. Proud to be quit with you guys.

Carry on.

I highly recommend Smokey Mountain snuff. I've tried every flavor except cherry an I think it feels just like dip. Even burns a little because they add a little cayene pepper. The straight is my favorite. I was having trouble writing papers, etc. and I really enjoy having one of the fake ones in to keep my mind off of dip. Still difficult to concentrate but it's a little better. Seeds are good too. If you've made it this far without the fake that' impressive!

When I first started the quit the herbals seem to help me some. Just having something in my lip. After awhile though i realized that it is sold right next to the real stuff and it would be to easy to have a bad day and buy the real instead of the fake. So I quit the fake to. The number one thing for me is exercise. I have increased my weekly mileage on runs to help with be pissed off all the time. Also when I feel a crave I do some push ups or situps as payment for being weak. It works most of the time for me. The others times by buddies here help me through.

I am on Day 6 of quitting nicotine. I am using Herbal Snuff. In fact, I am using it like a fiend. It is gross, it tastes bad, it is messy, it has no nicotine. I am going to continue using the herbal. My thought is that one day I will be able to put the herbal can down but I am not dealing with that right now. JUST QUITTING NICOTINE. After that I think anything will be easy. Good luck to you stay strong.

You might have a better experience with the herbals than I did I too was disappointed. You've crushed thru 28 days that's great! Yes, you will still have anxiety and cravings but they will get easier and it won't be such a daunting task to think about doing everything you used to do with a dip without one.

I chew gum and I chew it like a fiend, don't care though nothing wrong with it. You're fear will get less and less the more you do things without a dip. Get thru the first time and no subsequent time will be as difficult as that. Good luck and stay strong you're doing great!

Welcome. I've used the herbals and find that for me the seeds are often more satisfying when it comes to wanting to do something with my mouth for a while like if I'm sitting in front of the computer. If I just want a pack in my lip I've just started using teabags soaked with a mint extract solution for the pacifier effect where I can get to relive the joy of spitting brown liquid into an empty Mountain Dew bottle--I can't believe that some poeple think such an activity is gross!

hey man, i bought the herbal snuff - bought a whole log for that matter - hoping that it woud be the miracle product - I was wrong. As soon as you put it in you realize this isnt it. It stil beats up your gums and stains your teeth. I was dissapointed BIG TIME, but that is just my personal experience.

Day 28 and Mint Herbal Snuff
« on: February 11, 2011, 10:40:00 AM »
Hey all, just joined site. 28 days in and still have cravings and anxiety, mainly when it comes to thinking about sitting down, writing, planning, etc. I do a lot of this, also prepare lectures, etc. It is the mental part that is now the most difficult, having trouble concentrating. just the thought having to try to concentrate without dipping creates intense anxiety. still...trying to commit to one day at a time to regain control over my mind.

also. what is your opinion on the herbal snuffs..do they help? or just remind you what you think you are missing?
