Feeling more confident? Where'd you go? Haven't been on here in 4 days.

Surely you didn't get so confident that you don't need KTC anymore, already, did you?

I'm sorry about the loss of your mother.

However, neither that loss nor your desire to not put your wife through losing you is reason enough to quit.

If you're quitting for other people or because of other people, it isn't going to stick. This quit needs to be 100% about YOU and YOUR decision to stop using nicotine.

Find your quit group here. Get involved and get connected with people in your group. Accountability is a huge part of staying quit.

Find how to post roll here. First thing, every day. Make your promise.

I'll be looking for you on roll. Quit on.
Didn't see you post roll in Jan 2015 (the month where you will hit 100 days aka Hall of Fame month. See Monster's links for how to and where. Day 1 is the day you tossed it and started your quit. A roll post is your promise not to use nic that day.
My Mom died of lung cancer. Smoked like a chimney.
A friend of mine died from cancer, the healthiest living person I ever knew.
Bottom line: QLFEDD because tomorrow isn't promised, Yesterday is gone and Today is a Gift, that's why it is called the Present.
What are you gonna do with Your Present??
Are you gonna own up to being a nicotine addict?
Are you gonna keep being a slave?
The choice is Yours and yours alone. We are here to help. We have the tools. Would you like the tools?
Bring it all here. Bring your tears, your fears and we'll show you the way. The KTC way that works.
Stick around and your quit will stick.
Cheers.
Thanks! I'm already feeling more confident with this mission by roll and reading others experiences...even though sometimes my mouth waters from thinking about dipping while reading posts.

Make no mistake, this is for me, but cognizant of how this choice will positively affect me and mine.

Love to see you post roll. We get too many "one and done" posters here. Come on in and get some support. I would still be a slave today if it weren't for KTC and the bad ass quitters here.

Congrats on being quit for 6 days. Use this site as a resource because it definitely will help you when the cravings hit. Make sure to post roll every day. It is something that will help you be accountable to yourself and your group. There are positive and negative people on this site, but they are all here to help. Nic is an addiction, and the struggle is real. We get used to doing things with a dip. For me it was to put one in after my first cup of coffee, or before I started working on something serious, or when I got in the truck, or got on the lawn mower, etc..... That is the part that was the hardest for me. My hand would start reaching in my pocket to grab a dip before I would start anything. There are plenty of people to help on this site. If you don't post roll, you will not like being here. Congrats again, and I quit with you today.

Hi all,

I've been chewing off and on for about ten years now. Mostly habitual when I am traveling for work or playing NCAA football on playstation. Skoal mint xtra long cut was my chew of choice, but I dabbled in all other types as well.

The reason I am quitting is that my mom died from breast cancer last May and was the healthiest person I knew, running marathons and running everyday. And here I am, willingly cutting my life short like an asshole. Additionally, I am married and I don't want to put my wife through the pain of losing me early because I knowingly was ok with dying prematurely from chew.

I have been chew-free for six days and it's tough! I'm traveling and all I can think about is getting back to my room and putting in a big dip. However, I know what's more important and I'm pretty jacked to kick this habit that I've been ashamed of for a long time.

Looking forward to receiving the wisdom of the board!
