I'm sorry about the loss of your mother.
However, neither that loss nor your desire to not put your wife through losing you is reason enough to quit.
If you're quitting for other people or because of other people, it isn't going to stick. This quit needs to be 100% about YOU and YOUR decision to stop using nicotine.
Find your quit group here. Get involved and get connected with people in your group. Accountability is a huge part of staying quit.
Find how to post roll here. First thing, every day. Make your promise.
I'll be looking for you on roll. Quit on.
Didn't see you post roll in Jan 2015 (the month where you will hit 100 days aka Hall of Fame month. See Monster's links for how to and where. Day 1 is the day you tossed it and started your quit. A roll post is your promise not to use nic that day.
My Mom died of lung cancer. Smoked like a chimney.
A friend of mine died from cancer, the healthiest living person I ever knew.
Bottom line: QLFEDD because tomorrow isn't promised, Yesterday is gone and Today is a Gift, that's why it is called the Present.
What are you gonna do with Your Present??
Are you gonna own up to being a nicotine addict?
Are you gonna keep being a slave?
The choice is Yours and yours alone. We are here to help. We have the tools. Would you like the tools?
Bring it all here. Bring your tears, your fears and we'll show you the way. The KTC way that works.
Stick around and your quit will stick.
Cheers.
