K-State - I can't believe I didn't see your intro earlier!!! You probably don't want my Jayhawk screwing up your intro page, but hey, this ain't hoops or football we are dealing with here. We are dealing with saving your life, so I will save my Rock Chalk rants and focus on your quit. Fair?
First, congratulations on deciding to quit! Lots of folks here have battled through the fight you are going to be dealing with. So, lean in on us and read everything you can.
A little about me - I chewed Copenhagen for way too many years. Not really even sure how many. I know I was dipping at 16 and I am 40 today. I had a really bad fog set in on me at the outset of my quit. I went through irritability, anxiety, sleep problems and weird dreams. Mine lasted for a solid month and a half. Some folks go through this for about 5 days to a week. Mine was longer. I'm not sure if it correlates with the years a person dipped, or not.
The advice I will give you is the best advice given to me. I see the same advice written all over this website. It is truly simple, but freaking hard to do. Just make your promise every day by posting roll. Then, you got to live up to that promise. That shit will be calling your name and you will have some weird cravings - just don't give in. Just don't. Fight this bitch one second, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. Focus on the VERY short term. Listen to the other veteran quitters here and follow their lead. I also found it was helpful to jump in and start helping others out. Even if they are just a week behind you. You will have a great deal of insight to provide to them - not to mention support.
Sorry to be long winded but, I feel strongly about helping out folks around here when I can. PM me if you need anything. I will PM you.
Finally - check out all the bad ass quitters around here. We have all been working at this quit thing every day. You can do it if you listen and follow the advice you get here.
Good to see you quit.
EMAW!
