Hey guys,

I've been chewing multiple times a day, everyday, for nine years. I've gone on dip searches while on vacation if I've run out. I've done some pretty gross things I've absolutely no proud of in the name of my addiction. I've never seriously tried to quit. My sister is getting married this weekend and for some reason I decided that this was going to be it. I ran out of dip while at work yesterday and decided not to purchase more. I did a quick internet google search for tips or tricks and found this. So now I'm here and I'm ready to kick this habit in the balls.

Posted roll already, I think I did it right and in the right place. Sorry if I got the order of operations wrong with posting roll before the intro. Happy to be here though.
... Good luck and congrats!
Again... a correction in wording that is important.

We don't wish quitters luck here. We don't rely on hope. We don't try.

We... DO.

Get involved and stay involved... it works.
Dammit AppleJack! I made the other correction. My fault again :D

I'd focus on your quit first and foremost, it's liable to be a bumpy ride in a day or 2.............
I have no doubt.

I'm about three hours from making it through my first day of work without at least two dips (one before lunch, one after). There were sometimes three to four depending on what was going on that day. It hasn't been bad, but it hasn't been pleasant either.

Welcome! Nice job on posting roll (right is being on it, yes there are technical matters, but you will catch on to that).

Drink lots of water, exercise, AIM YOUR ANGER HERE! No more snapping at the wife, she didn't stuff you lip full of tobacco and doesn't deserve it. We understand your anger and can help you through it.

Exchange digits with your fellow quitters, build a support network to get through triggers (a sister getting married qualifies).

Also read the words of wisdom and hall of fame speeches for info.

I quit with you today.
I'm single so no need to get mad at anyone :) I'm currently very zen about the whole thing. I'm not angry or scared or emotional about the thing. Quitting is just something that needs to be done, like waking up for work in the morning only the stakes are a little higher in the long term. So far the only negative I've experienced is a little discomfort as my mouth discovers that a wintergreen pouch isn't in its usual spot.

The water and exercise thing is a solid tip though. Last year I made it a point to lose 25 pounds. I've gained about 15 back. Time to get back into gym and knock out two birds with one stone.
