CONGRATS ON DAY 1!!! You're smart to avoid triggers. I drove all over the place to avoid the store that has the best dates. And, sorry, I didn't read your post carefully enough. But the good news is that it doesn't matter. You kicked Nic's ass today...well done, brother!!!

WELP, I never said "try" ! i appreciate the correction and understand why thats important. However, i haven't had a lip all day, for the first time in forever. i even took a different route home so i wouldnt be tempted to buy a tin, AND i couldnt wait to get home and post something on the site, and what do i find but posts about my grammar from the majority of you guys.

It is going to suck...but the fog is a right of passage. Nobody's quit is for the asking...you gotta earn it.

The "try" and "hopefully" talk is bullshit. You're not trying and hoping...you're quitting, brother!!!

And here's how you're gonna do it...

Post roll every day,
Keep your word just for that day,
Repeat.

Don't think about tonight, you've already given us you word that you will not dip today...so if your word is worth anything, today is off the table. Don't worry about tomorrow or next week...they're not here yet.

Read EVERYTHING you can on this site...read the Kern family story. Read HOF speeches. If you even think about caving, reach out to someone on here. Post that you're struggling. We're here for you.

Stay strong and stay quit!!!

day 1 almost done. chewed some seeds, blacked out for awhile, but all in all not as bad as i thought...i'm sure it gets harder, but i'm game.

Ok, this intro has a few issues.

Hopefully is not a word we use here. It is do or do not. Try is also a bad word

not sure how I'm going to get through.....Grow a pair and keep the shit outta your mouth. Suck on straws, seeds, jolly ranchers, tail pipes, whatever. You can do this, we all have.

Welcome and keep up the good work. All you gotta do is quit for today, worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

You are in the right place. The deal is simple, it just isn't easy. Give your word every day that you will not use. Be a man of your word. Repeat. Use this site. Listen to the vets here. They have been down the road your going down. Jump in your group and get to know some of your brothers. The accountability makes all the difference.

Welcome aboard Bill. Your quit group is the April 2011 group. Its an awesome group and you will like the banter. Go ahead and post roll. Everyone screws this up the first time but the important thing is you simply promise not to dip for that day. Its that simple. This is how we all quit here. One day at a time.

Just deal with this hour by hour. It gets better. It will suck at first. Just have to gut it out.
