Not everyone is a quitter Castle, but you and I are today.

Frankie, get your shit in order and get back here. You will take some lumps, but save you live as well.
Im here fellers! 12 days all is well!!
First - I love your avatar. That is a riot.

Next - if you are serious... READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY... If you are serious, post roll. It is the price of admission to this site. It is the base on which all of our quits are built. If you aren't serious, this isn't the place for you. In these halls we quit. We quit one day at a time and we give our word to ourselves and others, and we keep our word.

I hope you are serious. Quitting will change your life. But either quit life a quitter or leave.
Frankie, I remember you trying to quit without posting on the forum. Last time you checked in you were quit 12 days. Would love to know how that's worked out for you.

Frank,
If you read this...
one thing I have learned from my numerous failed attempts at quitting is that it only gets harder and harder every single time. If I were to dip again today after 85 days quit, not only would I be dipping everysingle day again, I would probably be throwing in fatter lips. It has happened every single time. Make this quit your last quit. Don't make it harder than it has to be.

Frank, I have the same problem. I did it in secrecy....that was almost half the lure. So no support options.

I honestly recommend telling as many people as possible. This is how I stopped drinking. You need to make sure your substance is not something you hide. You need no trap doors. You need to have the feeling that if you were to start again that you'd have to tell everyone. Make yourself accountable to more than yourself. This has been what's kept me from drinking for two years, and I hope it works with chew.

Good luck. This seems like a good place to start.

He's one that loves dipping more than living! Sometimes we can only do so much! The rest is up to him!

Hey Frank, I can tell you're extremely interested in reading about quitting and are dying to just soak up as much info as possible. That's really great!

I can simplify everything for you and give you the key to quitting. The key is simply to make a promise to quit every day to fellow addicts and keeping that promise. The fellow addicts will then hold you accountable for following through with that promise.

I know this works because in 17 years of dipping I tried every method of quitting besides posting a promise to quit every day. Nothing worked. I'd usually caved after just a few days. I always convinced myself that there would be a better time to quit further down the road. I'm now on day 130 of being quit and it's all due to KTC and my commitment I make on a daily basis.

So you can read all you want, and that helps the quit, but ultimately you'll probably fail unless you commit to posting every damn day. Let's see you get on that roll. If you need help figuring out how to post, just let us know and we can get you situated.

but I LOVE chew. Chewing is something that gives me that relaxing feeling I strive to find elsewhere. It may sound weird, but I love the feeling of it tearing into my gums/lip. I don't know why in the world it is pleasant to me, but its something I look forward to.
Until this ^^^ changes... I smell failure.
Hey Applejack thanks for your reply. In retrospect, nicotine is the stimulant that does provide the relaxing feeling I associated with chewing obviously. So I made the mistake by stating the act of chewing is something that relaxes me, when no it is nicotine that relaxes me. I agree this does need to change. All of the things I mentioned referring to "loving" about chewing need to change. I mentioned to have "loved" the feeling of it tearing my gums is an association to my addiction to an oral fixation. I look forward to any advice, tips, information you may provide instead of anything you may smell. Because I only inhale success.
You're still making mistakes.

Nicotine may have certain effects early on . . but deep into your addiction, it isn't relaxing you. You are getting agitated because of WITHDRAWALS. Nicotine merely keeps the withdrawals at bay. That's not "relaxed." That's just being an addict.

When dipping you're in a near constant state of withdrawal. Yeah you get that first five minutes of that fattie--the rest of the time? You're coming down.

I'm glad you found this place. Read. A lot. There are a lot of quitters who have done so and been successful.

I was a 1.5 can user a day. I loved it too. I "quit" 40-50 times in 17 years. Then I decided I hated chewing and everything about it in March 2014. And it still took a month for me to quit. This addiction we share is horrible, yet can be controlled. You have to want to be quit as bad as you have ever wanted anything. Even after a year there are bad days, but I have a network of quitters now that I can go to and get the help I need.

Do you want it bad enough?
Hey Frank take this ^^^^ and ask yourself if you're ready! It takes alot of want to, to get this done. We all rooting for you but you've got to help yourself as well as letting us help you! I quit with you today!
And only you determine your success here. First thing it takes is a backbone. Don't worry about showing us anything. Show yourself. Only you have to look at yourself in the mirror each day.
