Hi All, just a short backstory, I started dipping back in undergrad while training with the Army. I figured I was in the field, dipping a little won't hurt because I am freezing and bored and its something to do. Boy was I wrong. I have been dipping on and off since about 2013. I have tried to quit several times but always find myself giving in, this time it will be done with support, which is something I was lacking before. Currently nobody in my life knows I dip, not even my girlfriend who I have been living with for the last 3 years and I intend to keep it that way, but that is also in part one of the reasons I need to stop, eventually I will get caught. I am not to the point where I get physical withdrawals from stopping dipping, but the psychological need is what gets me. I have multiple times gone a week or two without it and it is always my mind telling me I need it when in reality I don't and I can beat this. I have flushed my cans of dip down the toilet and today 4/13/2018 is my quit day.
Congratulations on making the decision to quit, and congratulations on posting roll today! You were a little off on the roll posting, but you did better than most on your first try. Don't worry about doing it wrong. The most important thing is that you are posting roll.

Here is a link with instructions on how to post roll correctly.

Welcome.

Nice job posting roll. A little practice, and you will hit it perfectly.

Treat roll as the most solemn of promises - a promise to yourself, a promise to everyone in your group, a promise to everyone posting support in your group, and a promise to the entire KTC community. Consider that you have looked each one of us in the eye, and promised that you will not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. If you can do that, and if you can do that early in the morning, before you leave the house, and if you can do that every single day, and if you keep your word - you will not fail.

Once you've made your promise, nicotine in all its forms is off the table. It's really that simple. It can be really hard at times, but it is that simple.

Give your word. Keep your word. Repeat.

That's it.

Proud to quit with you.
So far so good! Its been over 8 hours since I threw everything away and I haven't had a craving for nicotine yet. I know its coming but staying positive and keeping telling myself its for me and its for my health is helping a lot. Also finding this community I think is going to be incredibly helpful.
