Good decision to be quit, keep your head up and post roll, read everything on these boards.

Thanks for the welcome!

Day 3 is here and so fair I feel okay. I have had a few cravings here and there but nothing crazy. Cold Turkey seems to really help, I also cut way back on the amount I was using before I quit. Also exercise is huge. I went to the gym last night and lifted heavy! Walked in with a craving but didn't walk out with one.

Welcome WSF
Addiction needs support, and for me, support from people that have the same common ground.
You will find that here at KTC and in your July 2015 quit group.
Get over there and introduce yourself and post roll.
Also track this intro page (bottom right) and use it as a journal to track your progress and get additional support here.
Great decision. Now put the work behind it and learn to live life truly being chemical free.
I quit with you today.
I believe.....

Whats up?
« on: April 08, 2015, 09:27:00 AM »
Hey everybody, just want to introduce myself quickly. I'm WhiteSoxFan and I live in Chicago. I haven't had a dip since yesterday. I have used many different types of nicotine but dip was always my preferred method. I am quitting for many reasons, most of all I am just sick of the stuff. It interferes with my appetite, my weight lifting, my job, my internship, my school (I am in Grad School), my relationships etc etc.

Without getting into too much detail, I am in recovery from other addictive substances. I have been clean from them for quite some time and have some great support. I am looking at quitting nicotine the same way. Quitting it "just for today" and then tomorrow will hopefully be the same. Its worked so far.

I should also mention that I actually work in the field of addictions as a social worker. So I know addiction very well. However, when it comes to my own problems, I don't know jack shit and I need others help to stay quit.
