Thanks all for all the support! I went and played soccer last night - as I do most every Thurs. nights but chose to drink water afterwards instead of the few beers I usually have. Not a big deal but decided while I quit chewing why not go for the whole ball of wax - get in shape too. That too was something I said I would start tomorrow. Well my tomorrow is now my today - it has been for the past 5 days - lost 4lbs already. I'm on my way and I quit with you all today! Thanks!
That is awesome that you are making positive changes that may keep you on this earth longer. 1 year ago I was unhappy with my physical condition and the fact that I was a slave to a cancer can. I made the choice to quit every damn day and also lost 50 pounds. Like most things in life you get what you give. Go all in. Dive deep and see the results. Quit every damn day and the next thing you know you will be sitting on a mountain top of quit looking over the valley! Proud to quit with you man!

Mike, congrats on the best decision of your life. I'm about 60 days clean and I can relate to absolutely everything you said. The fear you mentioned almost crushes me sometimes. At least we are out of the fog and surely healtier for our families. Stay strong brother. Dan.

Mike, great choice to quit the dip. Hang in there you can do this, even though it's probably one of the toughest things you've done. I appreciate your intro. Thanks for sharing. I'm quit with you today.

Congrats on your decision. It is gonna suck for a while and then it won't. Keep the right mindset. Caving is not an option. I control my destiny by my choices. I will do whatever it takes not to cave. Make sure you name is on roll every damn day and participate in your quit group. (Don't post and run) Bad things end up happening to those that post and run or don't post at all.

Welcome to the asylum B.S. you have come to the proper place for quitting. I used the weed for something like 25 years and had stopped many times. I have now quit only once and with the help of KTC I found out how to do it. Quite simple actually, post roll promising to not use nicotine for 24 hours. Keep your promise to yourself and us, then repeat it the next day. You can't fail if you are a man of your word and post roll every day. Might seem like a simple plan, but it f%$ing works, guaranteed. Glad to quit with you today and if you need digits, shoot me a PM.

Big Swett, awesome choice to quit. You should edit your # out (a mod will do it shortly anyway) never know when a troll will get into the forums (it happens). Sounds like you have your mindset to quit.
READ EVERYTHING ON KTC!
I cannot stress that enough. Start with the welcome center, and keep going from there. READ EVERYTHING. Learn the KTC quit plan. Live the plan. The plan works.
PM me if you have any questions or need a #. You can do this!

Mike,
Congratulations on your decision to quit, having the support of your brother and this site will be key.
First thing you do is post roll in the morning, it a promise to yourself and your quit brothers.
Ready everything on the site and be active, get a lot of gum, candy and seeds ready. After 36years of chew and nicotine your body and mind are going to be in for a tough battle but you can do this.
Check your text messages, ODAAT

My Intro
« on: August 28, 2014, 12:51:00 PM »
I'm Mike (swettyballs brother). I've been dipping for a good part of "SHIT" 36 years. I've quit, wait, no I've stopped dipping countless of times during these 36 years but never quit until now. I still remember the first chew I ever had. I was 16 and a friend said hey try this it will give you a buzz (we were watching tv in the family room of my parents house). It did give me a nice temporary buzz for the first few times. Not sure why I didn't stop dipping after the buzz stopped coming. Now I'm in college and a lot of my fraternity bro's were dipping. Now it was the cool thing to do - no smoke going through the lungs so this stuff must be safer right?? Now I have a younger brother watching what I'm doing. I thought after several times that he'd try to steal a drink of my beer only to find that it wasn't beer in the can and a few times I'd scare him would work. Apparently it didn't and at first I couldn't understand why other family members where upset at me because he was chewing. At this time he's in his 20's so I'm figuring he's old enough to make his own decisions. I couldn't really tell him to quit when I was still doing it too. Now over the years I had stopped many different times - some lasting for months and sometimes for more than a year. ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS I started back up because I was at a party or a get together and I see a friend putting a dip in his mouth and ask hey can I get one too? You know the thought in my head, right? The Devil in my head - "dude you haven't had a chew for ________ mo/yr one chew isn't going to hurt it's just one fricken chew man and your strong enough now that it will only be one chew!" A lot of you know the answer to that one and I hope those that don't know the answer to it don't find it out. Reality check - I'm an addict of tobacco. I've let tobacco rule my life for the majority of it. And when it was out of my life I "the addict" let it back in - because I am an ADDICT. If you are in KTC you are either an ADDICT yourself or a person supporting an ADDICT. ADDICT can't have just one chew! If you take one chew it will be the first of many and then you'll find yourself having to go through the pains of quitting again. I've been there and done that and right now I am so thankful that I'm still alive! I'm SCARED though! I have 3 beautiful daughters that I'd love to walk down the isle - will all the years of chewing prevent that from happening? I would love to be around to see and play with all my grand kids - will all the years of chewing prevent that from happening? I would love to be at all my family's milestones (graduations, achievements, vacations etc) - will all the years of chewing prevent that from happening. I don't know what the answer is to these questions. I have to assume that I will miss something and it may be because of tobacco or not only God knows. What I do know is that I am done playing roulette with my life. I'm taking back the controls of my life FINALLY ONCE AND FOR ALL and putting the odds back in my favor! Finally answering the prayers of my wife and daughters that they've been praying for far too long. Well, that's my story! Thank you to my little bro (swetty) for helping me make my finale decision to quit and turning me on to KTC! Here's to our quit! My number is xxx-xxx-xxxx (WP edit: please don't put your number out here. Lots of riff raff patrol these boards.) for those that would like to give or need support! Thanks!

Mike
