Welcome to the family p2thumper. It's an honor to quit with you. Just take it one day at a time and post roll early every day and make that promise to not use. Read all you can, a lot of great info on this site to help you out with your quit and some fantastic people to lean on throughout the way. If you need any help at all or just need to vent, feel free to pm me.

P.S. I have to ask. Your user name p2thumper wouldn't have anything to do with car audio would it? I quit with you today!

Hey guys/gals,
I am 24 years old I have been dipping on and off for 3 years now up to a can a day at some points and most recently 2-3 cans a week. I got my start playing college baseball then it stuck when I started hanging out with cowboys. I have quit for several months at a time in the past but somehow just keep coming back and I am tired of this cycle. Most recently my gums started bleeding in between 4 of my bottom teeth and that has been the "eye opener" of sorts that I need to quit for good. Its great to see these forums up and going! My last dip was Saturday December 1st.
Couple quick questions right off the bat:
Will my gums eventually stop bleeding between my teeth? It only bleeds when I brush now but i originally discovered it just eating a sandwich. I can't afford a dentist right now, any ideas?
Also has anyone else quit for several months and return to dipping for really no apparent reason much like myself?
Thanks!
If you Quit Dec 1, this should be your Day 6.

Get over to March 2013 and jump in. Get this done.

Yes, your gums will stop bleeding. Best bet is to schedule an appointment with a dentist. I was scared to death to do it. I finally did, and not only were my gums ok, I didn't have one stinkin cavity.

Post up, get involved, read. This is the place to get support. We all know what you're going through.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

Welcome and congrats on a great decision!

Take a look at the WELCOME CENTER (salmon colored link) at the top left of the page.

Find you group - March 2013 and learn how to post roll.

PM me if you need some digits or have any questions!

If you maintain your quit, floss, brush and rinse with listerine or some other mouthwash your gums will stop bleeding in time. But they have to have time to heal.

There are many many many people on this site who have quit, caved, quit again and caved again multiple times. For the majority of people here it is not there first rodeo so don't be playing that "Am I the only one?" shit.

You can do this. I'm 48, I dipped skoal or Redseal for 36 of those years. I'm lucky I haven't developed cancer already because if I was awake I had a dip in. I even had one in during my grandparents funerals. What a douche I was. But I am on day 13 of my last quit. I promise myself and my family and my fellow quit brothers here at Kill the Can I will never use tobacco again in any form.

Realize that you are an addict. Post to your quit group every day. Promise yourself and your brothers that you will not use today. Repeat the process the next day. That's how it's done. One day at a time witha little help from your friends when you need it.

We don't say good luck here at KTC. We say get on with your quit bitch!. Luck has nothing to do with it.

Welcome aboard. PM me if you would like my numbers just incase you need a real voice to help you get over a hard spot.

Mike
