Honestly. There is not a real good alternative (Flavor/Texture) for the real thing. However, if you can handle natural flavour then Bacc Off Straight tastes like Natural. Yeah, I know. Just go with it. HAHA!

Congrats on your decision! There is no time like the present! Most people that plan their quit stumble more than those that just make the decision and do it right then and their. For me, I was at a point where I didn't have money for another can and I searched all over the place. Their I was with a handful of nasty change with bits of twigs, gum, and whatever else mixed in. I looked at it and the last dip in my last can and said "FU(K IT!" I am sure I scared my dogs a bit. Tossed, flushed, rinsed out (I had about ten cans that had that little bit stuck around the the can. You know, kinda like licking the bowl after a cake has been mixed). Got rid of all of it, even those that i had set out for bug killing! Yeah, real poison. We have a chemical we use in the Agriculture business called Neonicitides. It is, in essence, nicotine with other crap mixed in to add to the effect of the death to bugs. I haven't added any of this to my intro, just felt like it was needed for you to read. Not sure why. PM me for anything. Keep on Keepin on Quittin'!

Thanks gb, just gave the nicotine gum away. It was pretty useless anyways. Feels like I just want to pack a tin and throw in a big one and it's only been a few hours haha. Any ideas on a fake dip that feels/tastes real? So far I've looked at Smokey's but the reviews don't look so good. By the way, do I post roll right here in this thread?
That's the first step. I like grinds coffee pouches, vanilla and mint chip are pretty good. Also drink lots of water and get a lot of exercise. Post roll every day. Do whatever it takes to avoid nicotine. Make sure you talk to friends and family and tell them that you can't be around it, they will support you. You're making the right decision.
I've tried a coffee dip before just for fun and it was pretty terrible because it seemed to cause some real gum soreness. I might give the coffee pouches a shot if I can't find a "tobaccoish" alternative. Thankfully, I already get plenty of exercise and thus I'm constantly hydrated. Only problem is that I'm soooo used to finishing the last couple sets of my workouts with a fatty in as a type of pathetic reward. Those times will be my true tests. Few of my friends and even fewer family members know I dip because it's not really my persona so I've never been comfortable telling people. But my friends who got me into dip do know, and they've been pretty supportive. Thanks for the advice!
18 years old - I wish I had quit when I was 18 years old - or when I was 25 or 35 or 45 years old.

I didn't quit until I was 49 years old. And I did try to quit by myself several times. Quitting alone doesn't work for most of us.

Quitting nicotine is hard as hell and the first step is really to admit to yourself that you are addicted. The 2nd step is to start building a web of folks who you can reach out to when you are having a tough day and to pay those folks back by being there for them when they are having a tough day. Quitting is a team sport. Invest in others and get others to invest in you. Post roll and make connections here.

You can do this! You just need to want to do it. I quit with you today.
Glad you made this decision, why? I did it too and I dipped for 15 years, you can do it.
I wouldn't worry about the reviews, order some fake and try ones that work for you, I have ordered smokey mountain online and try new flavors and it absolutely is like the real thing, other than getting the nicotine/tobacco. Then, it is just mental. Noone NEEDS nicotine to deal with problems. 1 Problem + Nicotine = 2 Problems.
Listen and find posts from people who have early quit dates, you can really learn so much. Wake up, piss, and post roll (WUPP). Give your word to your "quit group" in the morning that you wont use nicotine today, and fight it out all day every damn day (EDD).
Take Stranger999's advice and reach out to as many people as you can.
My digits are only a PM away.
Enjoy the suck, and I hope to see you clean on your HOF day (100 days).

Post daily in July 16. You've got a great friend with GB321. One day at s time the struggle will turn to winning. You guys are so smart to quit young. Honored to quit with you.
Posting roll is the cornerstone of what we do here. Do it daily and do it early. Then all you have to do is keep your word.

Reach out to other quitters in your group and exchange numbers so you have a lifeline if cravings get to be too much; they can help talk you off the ledge.

This will be hard, but it'll be worth it.

Glad you're here and proud to quit with you.

Look for the quit groups section of the forums. Down near the bottom is the pre-HOF July 2016 group. That's your group. July signifies the month that you will be 100 days quit, or in the KTC "Hall of Fame".

Find instructions for posting roll in the July thread.

Your story sounds a lot like mine. You made the right choice by quitting but you haven't quit yet. Your day 1 is tomorrow. Flush the dip, chew, and nicotine gum. Anything you have had to go. Post roll every day, don't skip it for any reason, there is no excuse. Your roll post is your promise, your word. Get numbers and stay active. Feel free to pm me for my number. Welcome to the good life.

My First Attempt at Quitting
« on: April 17, 2016, 04:17:00 PM »
Hi KTC,

I'm an 18 year old who started dipping about a year ago; right before I graduated high school. In the past six months I think I've been truly addicted as I've been doing over 1/2 tin per day whereas before it was an "every now and then" kind of thing. I'm hoping to catch the addiction before it gets even worse. I think the nicotine has been causing me to just feel like I'm losing it every now and then. I have no room for that because I attend a high-ranking university and very few people know I dip.

I'm on day 3, I think. I quit dip 3 days ago but have since been chewing one or two 2mg nic gums per day. Still have the craving as much as I would without it, honestly. I truly miss the feeling of Kodiak Wintergreen, this gum is just not the same. Is nic gum considered "cheating" here? Any starter advice?

It already feels nice to see a bunch of people going through the same thing,
Dylan
