I am a new member but used this site about 4 years ago to help quit.
I was dip free for 3 years after chewing/dipping for about 20 years, the last 8 were hard core. I decided after seeing my then 2 year old walking around with my tin he had taken out of a drawer that I had to quit, nothing is more important than the example we set as men and fathers! I had tried before that a few times unsuccessfully. This time I discovered this site and used the fake stuff to help. I was clean for 3 years and got a new job where I had to go out of state for a few months and was "weak" due to being away from my family
(wife, and 3 little kids). I started dipping again thinking it would be just until I got home, that was a year ago. So here I go again! I wanted to post to remind everyone that there is no such thing as "just one dip" or a temporary habit.
I ordered some Smoky Mountain (fake) dip which is good and helped last time. I bought it in Wal-Mart last time but can't find it now.
A word to the younger guys or newer guys, there is nothing tough or manly about being controlled by anything, especially that little can! Thanks for posting and Semper Fi to any brothers out there !

I smell something in the air! Hey dog how about answers to a few questions: what was your previous name and what group were you in? You say you caved because you were away from home. Why did that make you cave? WTF are you gonna do different now?
You already got the Devil Dawg faction in here ready to show support but as was asked, come clean with your old group. Answer the three questions to them and then get to quitting this time.

4 years to sit on stopped sucks, let's quit for life this time.

Ohh-Rah!
"If you want to quit then stop talking and just QUIT. If you want to kill yourself a bullet is cheaper and faster than a tin, plus it eliminates my hearing you whine and cry like a bitch."

ok man i don't want to seem like i'm singling you out here. i've seen statements like this before, so maybe i'm addressing my question to that guy lurking around the forum, not sure if he's going to join.

so here's my question: how does this site help if you don't jump in and get involved? how do you get to success without accountablility? how effective is your solo quit without the brotherhood? i guess i just don't get it. when i came here i jumped right in. i'll admit it took a while to get full of kool-aid, but without that first step of signing up, i'm damn sure i'd be stuffing my pie hole, contemplating my next 'try' at quitting.
If you've been here before, you need to come clean to your old group, use your old name and man up.

And let's be clear Leatherneck, you never Quit before. You only stopped for a while.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

RedDog,

What's your quit date? If you've been quit for over 5 days then I think you'll be in the April group, with the rest of us Resolute Bastards. If so, introduce yourself on our roll call page.

As for dipping in front of you little kids, I can relate to that as I have a 2 and 3 year old and reason #57 that I quit was so that they would never have a memory of me with a fatty in my mouth. Reason #1 though that I quit is for ME and ME alone. Quitting for ME, will help ME accomplish the things I want out of life....and reasons #2 through #57 will fall out in the process.

Okay, now for the hard part. Quit for 3 years eh?....and a former KTC member?

Really important for everyone (especially us newbies) that you respectfully answer the three questions asked of all returning cavers. It's not my place to beat you up about about the poor choices in your life PRIOR to becoming a member of our quit group.....but now that you are a member of OUR quit group you need to demonstrate the seriousness of your quit to us. Do so, and I will quit with you every day and be proud to put my name along yours on roll call....every day. Do not, and I'm not sure I'll be able to take your quit seriously. Man up and take responsibility for your life.

Welcome to the April 2014 Resolute Bastards!

You'll have a PM from me in your inbox shortly with digits if you need em'.
Living the dream, one day at a time.
