My uncle was a smoker who loved smoking more than anything. When I was a kid I asked why he divorced from his beautiful wife and was told that she could not stand his smoking. I was 6 when I was told this story and I remember as a kid thinking "just stop smoking dude its not worth it". Then I started smoking, met my wife, and because she hated the smoking so much i switched to dipping. I have been either smoking or dipping or a combo of the two for 10 years now. I have tried endless times to quit, only to never make it more than a day. My wife has about had it with me and I felt like i was on the verge of divorce because i was not strong enough to quit something i already new was bad for me.

On 9/22/14 the wife and I got in a huge fight about my dipping. I than sat down and found this website. I read the first blog on the form and decided i was done. I threw my dip away and its been 4 days now. I was terrified of the withdrawals, but besides some pain in my lip and this constant fog I am in I am making it and I am actually going to quit. I have checked this website multiples times a day since I quit and it really has helped.

Well thats my into......
Excellent decision. Go post roll...right now. Find the December 14 pre hof and post days quit to roll. That's your pledge. From now on, do it every day, first thing.

Welcome. Make sure you quit for you....only you.

Nate that is awesome man! I hope you and your wife are going to get through this. Direct her to this site. Look at it together. Let her read some of the stories here. I think through that she will gain an understanding that we're all addicts, and we are fighting this fight to win. So, you really want to quit for you and your wife? All you have to do is follow a few rules and use the tools that KTC has to offer you.

1. Post roll every single day without exception. Wake n' Roll! First thing every morning you should post roll. Don't have internet access? Use rule #2. It's the cornerstone of KTC, and if you aren't willing to commit to posting roll every single day, then you will probably not make it honestly. So, you need to ask yourself if you are willing to do that. It's not hard to do, and literally takes like 1 minute.

2. Get a group of brothers (or sisters) in your quit group to be part of your cave plan. These are people you can call or text should you find yourself in a situation where you are thinking about caving in and going back to the poison. It's really really a good thing to do, and you need to do it.

Those two rules are very important Nate! I hope you are able to stick around. I don't want you to lose your wife over this poison my friend. I'm gonna PM you my number. If you need to talk or whatever, fee free.
Nate,

What schaef418 said ^^^^ If you do this for YOU then you will succeed. Do this for anyone else is a guaranteed cave. you're not here by accident...read, read, read. use the mirror, find the addict, have a talk, make the decision Today to "be quit" just for Today...ODAAT is the only way. keep learing about the poison, stick around and your quit will stick.
You can do this. I am.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.
It's poison I tell ya, You wouldn't drink Liquid Drano, would ya?

What is post roll?
Nate, the foundation of this site...and truly what has kept me quit, unlike my feeble attempts in the past is the roll post. By posting roll you promise everyone on the site not to dip for that day and that day only, and everyone else who posts makes the same promise to you. Seems like it won't make a difference right? Wrong. The longer I've been posting roll the more I know that it has been the difference between dipping and quitting. You will be in the July 2015 pre HOF (signifies when you hit 100 days). Instructions can be found by going to the Kill the can home page (click the logo above). Then clicking the welcome center, followed by how to post roll....good luck.

Nate,

Post roll. Stay quit. Repeat.

Don't try to do this alone. I was worried before I found some bad ass quiters and now I think I got a chance.
