On the night of September 11th (15 hours ahead) I was in a bar in Korea shooting pool with a buddy and his girlfriend. The television was in Korean and the bottom line was Korean. The conversation between us was typical. "That sucks." "That whole building is on fire." "That is the World Trade Center dude." I am not sure how live it was, but we saw the second plane hit the tower and goosebumps ran up my back. No less that 5 minutes later the infamous recall siren sounded. An MP and a Korean national police officer said "The state's are under attack, get your asses back." We sprinted to the gate, which already had armor and firepower fitted. We make our way in and are sprinting again..the sirens still blasting, I think to myself "holy shit they attacked us..."

For 62 days we sat on guard duty in shifts, arrested 4 Turks and 3 Saudis who were assholes. Just north of us they shot the hell out of an Pakistani guy. For what? Why react to getting caught with our backs turned? Why bomb a country that doesn't play by the rules? The same reason we don't speak German or Japanese now. The same reason we are not under Spanish rule. The Same reason we dumped tea to avoid illegal taxes. This was the correct way to react.

Aside from a short stint of driving truck for about 4 months, I've had a flag on my uniform shirt since that day. I assume I always will. I have to serve. I serve out of want, need, duty, and covering down because the fact is some won't or can't serve.

I have not watched a 9/11 special since about 2005 or so. I get so mad/upset that it wrecks my week. "Never forget" is a lame slogan. I can't forget. I watched the folks jumping from hell to hell. I saw the buildings fall with thousands of people in it. I saw the bodies and the fires. I saw the names. "Never stand for anything that jeopardizes the patriotism of the country ever again" is a good slogan. Kiss your wife (husband or some loved one) each day, hug and cherish your kids, and remember the pit you felt in your stomach when you saw that plane explode in an office building with thousands of workers inside...get that out in your stomach, hang a flag on your house, shake a firefighter's hand, wave at a police officer, and be proud to be an American.
This is incredibly well done Drew. Thank you for your service, and the ultimate honor of putting on your stripes everyday. Most will never feel the pride that comes along with the simple donning of the uniform, but you have prepared yourself to defend this country against all enemies at any cost.

Thank you and your brothers in arms for all the work that you do, and most importantly, God Bless the United States of America. 'usflag'
I'm damn proud to be an American! I am proud of our military, police, firefighters and all public services. I would love to stomp a mudhole in the next persons ass that burns a flag or bible! Put there ass on a plane , ship ,bus whatever and send there ass to whatever country it is that they think is so much better than the USA! And for all the sorry ass people that spit on the vets that came back from Nam shame on your asses, they were doing what they had to do! If it were not for the armed services you wouldn't be allowed to even be reading this! Also for all you stupid son of a bitches going after cops ,you need to be hung in court square. Thanks police officers for what you do for such shitty pay! God have mercy on the USA because it damn sure ain't what it use to be!
Thank you sir. You and thousands like you are why America is the greatest country on earth. And always will be.
Thanks Drew. It's always great to hear from those still fighting the fight. I have not been able to watch any footage since that day. It just makes me sick and pissed off. God bless

Lol! I shall always look up to you sir! I'm glad we both quit , no matter how many days we both have, just damn glad we quit! I can honestly say I probably would have never seen 60! Quit on and I'm always looking for your wisdom on the newbies!
60?! I always say and mean it, 10 wouldn't have come. Aside from a forced quit at Army basic, I've never made it past 10-12. I think I said 30 before, that was a stretch. Before ktc we kept emergency cans, and "only when I wake up" cans...

  • Interests: Yes, ma'am. I've killed Doyle Hargraves with a lawnmower blade. Yes, ma'am, I'm right sure of it. I hit him two good whacks in the head with it. That second one just plum near cut his head in two... It's a lil' ol' white house on the corner of Vine Street and some other street.
