Thanks WildIrish. How are you doing so far?
Hanging in there, one day at a time. Mrs. Irish is a big help. She told me that she never nagged me about dipping because she knew that I wouldn't quit until I decided to quit. Wise woman, Mrs. Irish. I think I'll keep her.

Listen to all the wisdom that will come your way. Take what you can use and leave the rest. Post roll every day. First thing in the morning, make your promise by putting it in your quit group and then keep your word. The road has been paved for you, if you follow it you will get your life back. It is very rewarding.

Today starts double-digits (10) days NIC free. It feels AMAZING
Congrats on day 10, SD! It does get easier, but you'll need to grit your teeth and bear it for a while still. Not trying to discourage you but simply be realistic, based on my experience as a 30-year chewer and dipper.

Stay strong! If I can do it, anyone can.

Here's a link to a roadmap of what to expect during your quit.

Come join me in the June 2016 group. I'm a 38 year addict, been quit 5 days now.
Welcome Sans...
38+ years here also.
Spent 9 days in hospital and then found KTC.
Its the common ground that makes this sight real.
We have all walked the same path of lies with nicotine.
Now we climb the same hill of freedom.
Join us. EDD ODAAT early every morning.
I Quit with you today.

Just joined this community today. Was so excited to find support out there!! Today is day 9 of my QUIT. Things had been going pretty well until yesterday-For some reason (I'm sure related to nicotine), I was experiencing horrible feelings of "loss" all day yesterday, like quitting to dip was like losing a lifetime friend. I was having memory flashbacks that I hadn't thought about in DECADES. Such odd an unexpected emotions. i dipped for 35 years, quit once for a few months, until a friend gave me a loose leaf (Red Man) chew. I thought "this is totally different, I won't get hooked again". WRONG!!
Well, I am here now and dedicated to the finish line!!!
SANSDIP - You are in the right place and welcome to freedom! First off...nicotine is not your "friend." It is killing you, so I wouldn't consider it a friend. Now that you are in the right place, go on over to the May 2016 quit group, post your name and # of days quit as your promise not to use nic in any form. Do this first thing, every damn day and stick to your promise. Here is the link to your quit group:
topic/11505241/505/

The feelings you are having are the withdrawal. Everyone goes through it. It will fade shortly, just ride it out. Get some tools in place like seeds, gum, mints, etc. to get your through the times when the cravings hit. Drink lots of water, it will flush you out. Get to know the guys in your quit group and stay active.

There is no finish line here...it's one day at a time, every damn day. Go get into your quit group and post your promise on roll. You are making the best decision of your life.
