Hey Orlando (that cracks me up every time)
New day! Get your quit on and let's move forward. Sorry it didn't turn out, but that leaves other opportunities still on the table. Stay strong, remain involved. Keep fighting.
Thank you both, I'm no where close to giving up on this. I'm gonna fight like hell to get the job I want, just like I'm doing with my quit. There were be plenty more opportunities for me in the future and this is by no means my only shot at making it into LE. mb289 thanks for the PM and the advice, I just sent you one back. G thanks for the support it really means a lot that I have people on here that don't know me but truly care about me. :)

MCO, how did the interview go?

mb289

The interview went well (at least I thought), unfortunately they decided that I wasn't "assertive enough" and that I didn't have the experience they were looking for. They did say that my answers were spot on and that if I could work on my assertiveness and get some more experience (i.e. go through the academy on my own dime) that they would love for me to re-apply next opening they have.

Right after being given the bad news, I headed to my truck and checked my email, I had an email from another department I had applied to stating that they weren't going to move me forward in their process either, but that I was "Still in the process" and that if any of the other applicants drop out or they decide that they have more positions they need filled that they would contact me.
Don't let it get you down Mike. Early in your quit you are vulnerable to caving unless you keep upbeat. I've learned that one of my reasons for going back to the can was a self defeated attitude. Strong KTC relationships are critical. I'm a pm away if you need anything. Learn from these experiences and you'll be out there in no time.
Thanks Wt57, I'll Pm you. I'm not letting it get me down, just using it as a learning experience and using it as motivation. I won't cave, that's not me.

Welcome aboard brother. I myself am also 21 years old, and I can guarantee you that you will see many older quitters on here say "I wish I had quit when I was your age, it would've saved me a lot of (time/money/pain/worry/cancer)." The best thing you can do for yourself is taking it one day at a time. Don't think about tomorrow until tomorrow gets here, you are quitting for today. We do have a great opportunity because we are so young yet, so let's take advantage of it and stay quit. It's worth every day of freedom.

Hey... good job at the store. Looks like you got a good thing going. Tomorrow is your Day 6 and the fog will hopefully be gone (mine lifted about day 5), that will be just in time for you to kill that interview. Good luck man. If you need anything just give me a holler.

Today was Day 5 without nic for me. This was also the easiest day I've had so far but I did face a challenge that I'm proud to say I overcame; my first trip back to my old store. I visited the c-store that I've bought dip from for the past three years, when I got to the register the clerk reached for the cope and I told him I quit. I got to say when I walked out that door I felt so free. Day 5 is coming to an end and I'm feeling extremely optimistic, I have a big interview tomorrow for my dream job and I'm ready to kick some ass.

Keep moving forward

Welcome, mco. Congrats on deciding to quit. Spend as much time on the site as you can. It really helps to read about what everyone else is going thru. If you need anything, we're here for you. Good luck with the interview.
