Hello fellow Quitters! I am currently on day 2 of my quit and look forward to walking this journey with you all.

My name is Nick and I am from Ohio. I am currently deployed with the Air Force in the Middle East. I am over 1/2 way through my deployment and decided to use this as a springboard to make the decision to be nicotine free. If I can succeed in these circumstances here it should make my transition easier when I get home. I feel like I am mentally prepared for this long battle ahead of me. I know this isn't a battle I am going to win in 2 weeks or 2 months but it's making the decision to quit every day.

look forward to connecting and getting to know some of you!

Thanks- Nick
Thanks for your service Nick! Glad to be quit with you.

Welcome Nick and thank you for your service. You'll find a lot of military and first responder types on these boards.

I don't think I need to tell a military guy why quitting with a band of brothers is more effective than quitting alone! So start exchanging digits to increase your accountability (accountability being the KTC special sauce). Chase people down who haven't posted. Text each other to offer encouragement. Post about what you are going through. Lean on everyone here - and let them lean on you.

Read all you can about addiction so you understand what nicotine did to you physically and psychologically. See it clinically. It helps to learn to HATE nicotine so you stop romanticizing it. Good resources to be found HERE.

Proud to be quit with you today.
Just one and you will be back to where you started, and where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are now.

Welcome.

Nice job posting roll. DonÂ’t worry about screwing it up. The only way to screw up roll it by not posting roll. YouÂ’ll get it soon enough.

The only thing to concentrate on right now is staying quit.
