Just a little update on my progress. Im on day number five and going strong. Went camping and fishing all weekend which would normally mean a can a day or more, but guess what I didn't even hesitate this weekend and powered through on my OWN. After the first couple days things have gotten better. Still have the thoughts through out the day, but they pass quickly. I'm positive I have had my last dip in my life!
that, my friend, is the sound of the door closing. your boat is burning in the shallows, and there's no going back.

keep up the good work, and let me know how i can help you. you've made my quit stronger today!

tazmed- good luck in your journy as well.

Thank you guys for all of the support. You are a huge motivation. Day two is a lot better!
No luck involved. This is not a hand of poker or a roll of the dice. Make a decision and be quit. Simple...but not easy.

Hang in there Doonan, I'm on day 2 and it sucks...but I'm still going. I haven't been able to get ANYTHING done at work so I've been reading posts from others. They've been where we are now. Everyone says "Take it one day at a time"...well, I'm taking it one minute at a time and will work up to "one day". There's a lot of support here; use it. I know I will. You keep me honest and I'll keep you honest.

Welcome doonan. This is the best decision you have ever made for yourself. It will also be the hardest thing you have ever done. Trust me. Getting chewed out by your lady is chicken feed compared to waking up at 3AM on Day 3 of your quit drenched in sweat, shaking and craving a dip stronger than anything you have ever known. The key for you is attitude. YOU ARE QUIT. No I hope I succeed. No I need this to work. None of that. Rather, I am quit. Take it day by day, which is what we do here. Post roll, rinse and repeat. Keep your word. You may have lied to others, but do not lie to me or anyone else on this site to whom you gave your word. We will hold you accountable. But we'll also be there for you at 3AM when you can't take it anymore. Glad to be quit with you.

Stop posting dirty words Doon. One of the sages here would tell you

"Hope is a fat chick from high school. Screw hope."

You came here to quit. So we'll quit. Read through the Welcome Center. Get a sense of what's going on. Lots of folks and reading here.

Welcome to your quit...not an attempt...your quit.

I was right there with you 4 days ago. Still feeling shitty right here with you. Keep yourself busy. Go to the store and buy some seeds if you haven't already. Just try and stay busy.

hello everyone... im about six hours into quiting which is the longest i have gone without a dip in a long time! I feel light headed and crave a dip. I hope I can do this and I need to do this. I have been dipping for about 8 years and this will be my first attempt to break the habbit. This site is awesome!
