Not much I can add as youve been told most of what you need to hear i think. I was a long term dipper 20+years, but am now quit and largely due to this sight. There is not one of the thousands of members on this site that wouldn't love to go back to where you are and throw that shit out of our life at your age. Quit and I will quit with you!
I would rather lose to a cheater than win as a cheater.

You've been given a bunch of great advice from some badass quitters.

The only thing i will add right now is this. I figure i spent over 20,000 dollars on dip from your Age until my age. For what? Think about it.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Yep you are just a young addict and I was that young guy Diesel is talking about I was gonna quit at 19 when a large sore showed up in my throat threw a whole roll of chew away and 10 pm that same nite I was off to loaf and jug to fuel my addiction....I rationalized all day long I was like I only been doing it for a few years no way its cancer...n the really good one oh fucking well if it is cancer I got it anyway and not chewin isnt gonna make it go away... So ya see all the early quits were just a "Stoppage" (term I learned here) Dont be a dumb ass like I was yes you are an addict and yes you can stop and yes it is going to suck suck real bad. But something clicked in your head and you found this site. My biggest game changer was when I finally put it together I am worth it I fucken matter. I deserve to not have my face cut off and have full blood supply to my legs and feet. I deserve to no to have to hop outta bed in the am and toss a dip in my mouth.
READ READ here and I know your your young this will not be easy for you but LISTEN no one here will try to hurt you. I may be new to quit but I am not new to being an addict.

I am a young one, at 21 years old. I have been dipping since I was 17, around a can or so a day since I was 18. I realized that I can't go very long without a dip, and would like to kill this thing off, as well as learn how to keep it away for the rest of my life.

I have attempted to quit the past 6 months, the longest I made it is 3 days.

I am joining the forum so that I can learn from people who have struggled and overcome addictions that are most likely more severe than mine. I will post daily and look forward to getting rid of this habit before it becomes a long term addiction.
Addiction is addiction bro. Just because your a young buck at 21 doesn't meant you're any less of a junkie than the rest of us.

Anyway, that really doesn't matter. What matters is that you are here and we want to help you. You are very wise to quit at age 21. I wish I had but I was too stupid.

Read the salmon colored WELCOME CENTER at the upper left corner of the page and start posting roll.

Also read through intros, words or wisdom, hall of fame speeches, etc...it will all be helpful.

You might not have been chewing as long as many on this site but the fact that you could not make it more than 3 days without, should tell you that this stuff has quite a hold on you.

I gotta be honest though, I see a lot of hot shot 21 year olds come in here wanting to quit and then after a few days they are gone like a fart in the wind. Don't be a fart, bro.

Quitting WON'T BE EASY, but it is possible. If my DUMB ass can do it, anyone can. If it makes you feel better I quit at age 37 after 15 years of stuffing my cake hole full of cancer candy. I was up to 2 cans a day of Kodiak when I went cold turkey after having a panic attack when I thought I had cancer. Don't let yourself get there!!!

I WAS A MESS, but I didn't give up and I did not die. Guys here held me up until I could stand on my own and then I spouted a sack and really got into the quit.

You got this! We are here for you.

Nice work to get this far man. Now it's time to take it to the next level, start with the welcome center, read all the threads, it's not a long read and is a great investment in your quit. Post any questions or random thoughts you have here, you can also ask questions through pm, in your quit group or in live chat. If you're willing to fight you can kill the can.

Kavuman,
You are young and have made the wise decision to Quit! That makes you a very intelligent individual to realize that this addiction will get you nowhere at such a young age. I wish that I would have been able to realize that at 21 but spent 30 years of lies, deceit, and cowarding in dark places to fill the need for nicotine.

Follow the directions at the top of this page (Wastepanel) and you will be a full fledge Quitter in no time. Today is a great time to Quit!!!

Honor your word and own your Quit!
Quit today all day long!!!
