Welcome Brother! Quit kicks ass. It's way better on the other side. How do I know?? Because I was a slave to Kodiak for 25 years.

You're not alone. Stay quit one minute at a time. Pickle seeds and strawberry gum is what I lean on. I don't like the fake shit...(though it has saved many others)

You can do it. KC Bronco

Outstanding shit my friend. Welcome to freedom. Something about knowing you call the shots that's liberating.

Settle in for the ride. Stick close to this site. Read and reach out. There is a ton of help here. Anyone of these stone cold steel balled fuckers would offer you a hand, a word of encouragement or a kick to the nuts as deemed necessary.

Way to step up and face the problem, Kevin. As others have said, find something to help with the oral fixation - seeds, gum, candy, fake stuff, etc. The next 3 days will be hard but after that you've got the nicotine out of your system. Next will be dealing with the mindgames, the fog and your body screaming for something it has had for 14 years. Just hang in, it gets better. Especially when you can look at your loved ones with the pride of knowing you have kicked the can and it's nasty contents to the side. Make sure to post roll everyday. If your experience is like mine, you'll find that posting roll is what will get you thru the day. During this time, your quitgroup and all the supporters are your biggest and best weapon. They'll celebrate the highs with you and keep you picked up thru the lows. They'll also turn nastier than a Mississippi leg hound if you don't keep your word and cave in to niccotine.

I don't know if you've read the front page, but please do. It was a help for me, not only during the first of my quit, but I still find myself going back and reading it. Here's a link

Welcome Kevin! Nice job posting roll and taking the first step in achieving freedom from the can.

This link will help with finding the fake stuff. Take some time and look at the welcome center. If you still have questions just shout. Lots of water, exercise, trident gum and sunflower seeds helped me keep the craves at bay.

Your promise is your word. When you shed all the stuff and the things, it's all we have left. Honor it and you'll honor us, yourself and earn the freedom you seek. Thanks for stepping up.

This is my hello and my Day 1

Good morning folks - Took the (much needed) step today, several hours ago actually. It is already harder and already more rewarding than I fathomed it could be. Granted my real test(s) will come during my car rides or working at the computer. I have had today planned for quite some time. I picked the date, wrote it on the calendar and spent the last week mentally preparing myself for the quit.

I started dipping in undergraduate school and have dipped for about 14 years. I am anxious as all fuck about quitting but am motivated.

I am am eager to continue reading the site - I did post roll call.

Not sure if proper place (I did do a search) - but does anyone know of a place to purchase the Herbal Snuff products in Charlotte, NC? Even google searches yielded no results for me.
