Why do i have the feeling that when i go to bed tonight the sleepless nights are going to start. Maybe I should get some Z-Quil or Nyquil.
Not gunna lie brother I had trouble sleeping for the first week or so. But after that the sleep gets better than it ever had before. Good luck on this journey, you are in the right place. One day at time just like you said!

Thanks for the shout yesterday evening. Was pretty cool. Day 4 is near done and I'm feeling pretty good. Maybe I will be able to get some restful sleep tonight.

I think just reading some posts helps to relax me enough to where the cravings are bearable. Thanks

Not sure where to post this but wanted to share something I discovered last night.
Day 4 and feeling better each day. I've been quitting hard core. No substitutions or anything, about the only thing I've been allowing myself is trident gum if I'm REALLY jonesing. My main trigger is after meal time. Especially after the evening meal, that was my "highlight of the day dip" I guess you could say. So last night after dinner I'm milling around the kitchen fighting my main crave and I happened upon a bottle of Tabasco. I was suddenly compelled to put a droplet on my finger and then spread it around inside my lip where I used to dip. I suddenly got the spicy warm burn/tingle like I used to feel with dip and my brain went AAAHHHHHHhhhhhh. For about 2 minutes I found relief I was craving after dinner. It really helped and I might even do it again tonight after dinner!
Whatever it takes Triger! This is the place to write anything you want. Its your intro. Write in here a lot. Down the road you are going to want to read it all from the beginning to revisit how far you came! Quit on Bro!

Yup, just being here, the website  forum helps so much. I'm surprised at how well it works for me. Never really knew or gave credit to a support group environment before. I guess my own shortcoming, being too macho/independent to believe. Now I know!!!

Trig congrats on your day 2. It was the toughest for me. I am 6 days in now. Still edgy with my family and coworkers. I just found this site today and I think you did too. One day at a time we can beat this Nic Bitch.
Some good chatter going on in here. Just know that these cravings only last about 3 minutes on average. Granted, in these early stages they are more frequent, but that will dissipate. Trust me on that. So, when that crave hits, remember, you only have to leg it out for a few minutes before it passes. When it comes on, you go to your ammo - food, seeds, gum, water, push-ups, KTC, quit brothers, whatever it takes. Just don't pussy out in those few minutes. At the same time, savor those moments of pain. Say to yourself, "ahhhh this feels fuckin' awesome! bring it you nicotine bitch" ...whatever. Point is, embrace the suck and promise never to put yourself through this again.
