But guys, I know what I'm doing. Who are you to question my methods?

Even though I'm still using, I've got this. You'll see......

Really, I've quit so many times, I've got wayyyyyy more experience at it that any of you.

Hello my name is John,

My topic title date and time are when I begin a new life "Dip Free". I am almost 43 years old. I am a self employed personal trainer, who has been blessed with a wonderful business and life. I have been dipping for 28 years. I have tried in the past to quit. By me being here and posting, I was not successful. I will be dip free this time. I want to be around and enjoy life, clean and healthy. I choose late Thursday evening for the following reasons: 1. It will give my body a chance to adjust to no dip while I am sleeping. 2. Friday is my last day of work for the week and I can use the weekend to get through the first 72 hours of withdrawl. I am spiritually and physically healthier than I have ever been in my life...NOW IS THE MOMENT. I greet any and all on this site who have or will be clean with love and respect for what you have or will accomplish.
Hi John,

As you can tell we don't take to kindly to Quit dates.
All I'm going to say is this: I did the same thing when I first discovered this site. I came on and introduced myself, gave a Quit date of about 4 days later. Needless to say I was ripped to shreds just like you.
I don't condone my actions. However I was a MAN OF MY WORD and Quit that day, exactly 102 days ago. I will support you if you will be a MAN OF YOUR WORD.
Don't let me down, I will see you tomorrow on Day 1.

Brian

John,
These fine quitters are right. You need to dump your shit now and get busy quitting. There is no time better than another. No matter when you quit it is going to suck.

Spend some time reading this site and you will see you are not the first person to set a date in the "future". What happens when friday gets here and the stress of work is too much, the dog dies, any number of other things life will throw at you. It is too easy to say well shit this is just too hard. I will now wait another week. We have all done it, I made excuses for 25 years.

The time is NOW !! Dump your shit.. by Friday you will be clean. I will send you some information to get you started.

Setting a date in the future is bullshit. I know, I used to do stuff like that too. I used to feel guilty when I was using. "Setting a date" made me feel better...like it is okay to dip now because I'm quitting in the morning anyway, right? Even though I was an addict, I was better than all the other addicts because I had "set a quit date.". I'd even proudly tell my buddies that I was planning on quitting...as if that was an accomplishment? That's BULLSHIT!!!

That is addict speak. Nic can make you rationalize anything. You've got to commit to quit or it won't work. And "just about to do something" is no commitment.

Stop bullshitting yourself and quit today. (re-read this after a month or two of living nic free...and see if you don't call bulldog on yourself... It's the nic bitch talking).

As you can see, there's quite a strong belief that you should quit now! No matter, quit when you're ready and come see us. But bring your super thick quittin boots cuz the shit is thick and deep. Your exercise background will get you through the craves, should be a nice part of your quit plan.

Jump in, the shit is deep. You know it, we know it. WE are the life jacket, so jump

You said something in your introduction that was on the money....something that made me thing you really do GET IT. Unfortunately, the rest of your post made me realize, no, you don't. Look at your post....I highlighted the part you really need to pay attention to. See it? Now, read your ENTIRE post and tell me where the contradiction is...

So, if you GET IT and if you are SERIOUS about quitting, follow your own words...NOW IS THE MOMENT...not some bullshit date and time of your choosing because it better fits your schedule...

When you decide to quit, I'll be more than happy to support you.
Good catch coach.

"now is the moment....but I think I'll wait until Thursday"

Got it.
Do it. Do it now.

We know what you are rationalizing. We have been there.

Jump in brudda. I know it's scary as shit.

You can do this.
